StimulusCheck (espanol abajo) (lessons from the plague, pt 4)

***UPDATE ON PUREHEARTCHILDRENS FUND BELOW***

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;

So what are you going to do with your Stimulus Check once you get it? What you do with it is a real STIMULUS CHECK as in what stimulates you. We are going to do with our monetary stimulus check exactly what we do with all the checks we get. We will use it to help others for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ. When we want to check on what stimulates us, the best place to start is to look at where our physical stimulus check goes. That's a big clue.

......This devotion really has NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY......

What stimulates you? Where you invest your time, energy and money shows what really stimulates you, what drives you. Naturally you need to pay your bills and take care of your family, but beyond that, what else will you do with it?

By definition: stimulate means to encourage interest or activity. The idea of the stimulus check is to stimulate the economy. People get mentally stimulated by the stimulus check too. It’s good for their mental health.They get something to look forward too. I get a lot of elderly people complaining that their children have forgotten them. They feel alone and forgotten, especially in these times. The stimulus check is a great help for them, but they are still very lonely and frightened. It makes me feel sorry for them. When I tell them to take comfort in knowing that Jesus will never leave them nor forsake them, they immediately feel better. Always. They are stimulated by this truth. Jesus is actually more real than the stimulus checks AND their children, combined. Jesus also is longer lasting and a lot more caring and loving. We should be stimulated by and focused on the permanent, not in the temporary. You won’t ever be disappointed. Permanent things are spiritual, temporary things are worldly.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee

Jesus’ love stimulates Winnie and me. He encourages our interest in others. He encourages our activities in helping the less fortunate. Winnie and I perform for an audience of one, Jesus! All Christians need to check what stimulates them. Is it really Jesus? Or something else? Someone else, perhaps? Are you stimulated by something or someone that is true or false?

For example. I have a friend who claims to be a Christian but is in reality, a stolen-valor guy (claiming to be a war hero but isn’t). Everyone knows he is embellishing, but no one wants to break it to him. Ask him about Jesus, he’s non-chalant. Ask him about serving others, he’s not really interested, flakey at best.  Ask him about his ‘make-believe war stories’, and he comes to life, his eyes light up, and he can bore you to tears with hours of imagined war stories. I always wonder how great of a soul winner he would have been if He was stimulated by Jesus as much as he was stimulated by his delusions of grandeur. The hours he would have spent in studying the Word of God, witnessing, making desciples of Jesus and interceding, instead of studying on ways to make his lies more believable. He is sick, I am not putting him down, but this is as classic a case of stimulus that I can describe. You can be stimulated by something real or fake.

Things you can see and even imagine are usually fake, temporary at best. Things you can’t see or even imagine are real and permanent. Riches and cares of this world are fake. Puppy Love diminishes with time. Beauty is like a snowflake, gone almost instantly. What should really stimulate us is what God has in store of us. Check what stimulates you.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

*update on PureHeart... our workload is through the ceiling. Because we are avoiding crowds (Nicas, especially Nica children have no concept of social distancing) we take uncooked food to the families and see to their medical needs one on one. We visit the poorest homes in the boonies and slums. It is a lot more expensive,and time consuming, and risky. Everyone's tense,and the slums are a poweder keg. Ergo not many photos, sorry. There is lot of anti-american sentiment right now as well. The press insinuates we are carriers of the virus, plus there is a lot of talk that american still trying to overthrow the government, using students as pawns. Now add to the equation an old drunken retro commie and it gets really weird, really fast. Pray for resources, wisdom and safety.  Besides Winnie and my daily devotions, we have two other Bible studies in the Winnerhome. 1 daily, and 1 once a week. We also have an English class and PureHeartPre-k is still going on as scheduled. Most of the patents however just come to get the homework and take it back, to protect the children. God bless you, wash your hands, read the Bible, pray and turn off the TV as you go outside to take a walk.

We love you, thank you, and praying for you and our great country, the USA!

Cheques de estímulo

(Lecciones de la peste pt 4)

2 Corintios 13: 5 Examinaos a vosotros mismos si estáis en la fe;
