Stop Thinking the Prospect Owes You Anything
Hi,
Welcome to this week’s edition of Prospect & Chill! Lets dive into the subtle, yet transformative aspects of sales that often go overlooked.
You know that feeling when you feel like you've done everything right the perfect pitch, the smooth intro, the ideal timing and then... nothing. Or worse, a “P*ss off” or a “No thanks”? We’ve all been there.
It stings. I get it. But here’s the cold, hard truth that took me some time to learn, Prospects are entitled to respond however they like. And no, they don’t owe you a thing.
Let that sink in.
No one has to engage with you. They’re busy. They’ve got their own priorities. And frankly, you’re not the only person vying for their attention.
So, whether they hit you with a quick “no” or let you down gently with a “not right now,” it’s part of the process. Every single call, email, and message is just a piece of the puzzle.

What really matters? How you respond. Are you listening? Are you adapting your approach? Are you keeping it real?
I know it's tempting to chase that immediate win, to close a deal or lock in a yes. But in my experience, the best opportunities don’t always come from a quick "yes." Sometimes, that "no" opens the door to a valuable lesson.
A “no” doesn’t have to be personal, it’s just information. It’s a chance to reassess your pitch, tweak your timing, and get better.
So, here's my advice, Keep the conversation genuine. Stay persistent. And most importantly, don’t forget that this is about building relationships, not securing instant victories. That’s the long game.
Next time you hear a “no,” think of it as a step forward, not a setback. And remember, just because they don’t owe you a “yes” doesn’t mean you can’t find value in every interaction.
Stay real, and keep going.
