Strategic Human Resource Management

Strategy is a buzz word in B-schools, corporate houses and even in daily life. In fact, strategy is a broader term. It’s part of all major management streams. Be it in operations, finance, marketing and Human Resource Management too.

Since our newsletter is dedicated to HR, we just look in to introduction. Later, in the upcoming articles, together we will learn and enjoy various insights related to the SHRM.

Definition wise, SHRM is an approach to the development and implementation of HR strategies that are integrated with business strategies and enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Every organisation has a goal to achieve in the short term and long term. Each organisation has its own organisational strategy that guides them to achieve the goal.

All management streams support organisation to achieve goal with its own individual strategies. However, all these individual strategies are integrated to the organisational strategies.

Likewise, SHRM ensures that HR activities support the achievement of business strategies on a continuous basis and add value to the organisation.

In the coming series, various concepts of SHRM with stories will be detailed.
