Strengthening Democracy through Grassroots Engagement: A Call for Collaborative Action in Zambia
In my dedicated efforts spanning over the years, I have had the privilege of working closely with both lawmakers and community members, delving into diverse aspects of community engagement, project implementation, and human rights and public policy research. My current focus revolves around a significant project addressing "The Prospect of a Just Transition at the Black Mountain in Kitwe," a subject that gained attention at the Artisanal Small Scale Miners Symposium in South Africa.
My primary area of impact is the Chawama Constituency in Lusaka Province, home to approximately 300,000 people. Here, my work encompasses engaging with community leaders through constructive dialogues and implementing initiatives to address critical issues such as poverty, unemployment, youth empowerment, and the collective actions necessary for community development.
In 2021, I successfully implemented the "Digital Democracy Project" under the Alliance for Accountability Advocates Zambia, funded by GIZ. This initiative aimed to promote accountability in the administration of the Constituency Development Fund and resulted in the formation of Community Action Groups.
Recognizing the pivotal role of the National Assembly of Zambia in shaping public policy, it is imperative to establish and maintain continuous engagements with key stakeholders. These interactions are crucial to safeguarding public policy and ensuring its positive impact on the lives of the people we serve.
In the pursuit of a more just and equitable society, collaboration with institutions such as the National Assembly is indispensable. As we strive for sustainable community development, let us join hands and work collectively towards a brighter future.

11moOne thing I have come to learn is that creating impact does not happen until it is activated by consistent action. I mean, CONSISTENT action.
