The strip of Gaza a bleeding land
Nearly 70 % of the dead in the Gaza Strip are women and children.
“The analysis of about ten thousand cases of people killed in the Gaza Strip between November 2023 and April 2024 revealed that nearly 70 % were women and children,” said Ajith Sunghay, head of the United Nations Human Rights Office in the Palestinian Territories.*
“This unprecedented level of civilian deaths and injuries is a direct consequence of Israel’s failure to respect the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law,” said Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, in a statement.*

We struggle to look at them dismembered, gray, covered in sheets on stretchers, with purple mouths and stringy hair, under the rubble and unable to breathe.
We zap the TV channel.
But we cannot hide the truth.
Would we look away if our son was massacred by bombs?
Would we zap from channel to channel if our wife was suddenly hit by a burst of machine gun fire?
Those few orphans who will survive the horror, have broken souls.
Rhetoric, you might think.
𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝.
We live in Parma, Milan, Paris, London, Rome, where’s our fault?
There’s none, but we can take responsibility.
Soon it will be Christmas Day and we will exchange gifts in peace under the tree, while on the other side of the world, mothers and newborns will be killed, in huts filled with hatred.
Peoples who compete for an ancient power with unbelievable violence and no signs of stopping.
The Authorities watch without taking action against it.
The European Parliament is silent in indifference.
The international institutions are ineffective.
Weapons are launched from every latitude.
We are watching, or perhaps, not. Not even that.
It bothers us to see a genocide in the middle of an SUV commercial and a quiz show.
If we still have a Conscience, we can do something. If it is asleep, we must awaken it.
"Give a diamond for Christmas, NO WAY".
Boycott Israel, one of the largest diamond producers with De Beers.
It will be less than indifference.
Stop buying any Israeli product is within our reach.
Delete all the subscriptions we have with Israeli companies is what we will do starting from tomorrow.
We all sang the song "𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝" in the 80s in favour of Africa, for world hunger.
We learned the chorus in English, we were moved by every single verse of singers from different ethnic groups, symbol of integration, peace and love.
But nothing has changed.
If “We are the world”, then that strip of blood and land also belongs to us.
We cannot pretend nothing is happening.

The massacres of women and minors have only one meaning: the mass extinction of entire generations, from a tender age, of fragile and innocent human beings, of a culture, of traditions, of faces, of hearts.
"The behaviour of the Israeli army has led to an unprecedented level of deaths, injuries, hunger and disease", denounces the report, which condemns including Israel’s “persistent and illegal commitment to obstructing humanitarian access, destroying civilian infrastructure, and repeatedly forcing people to move.”*
The Israeli embassy to the United Nations in Geneva has categorically rejected “the report’s absurd conclusions,” denouncing “the demonization of Israel.”*
It’s enough.
Where and when women and children are killed, there is no justification whatsoever.
We are not powerful as politicians, but people do have power together.
Let’s start using it.
Stop war crimes.
Boycott all Israeli product. Now!
