The County has wrapped up another construction season. We are grateful for the patience and cooperation of residents & stakeholders through this busy season.
We undertook 91 Capital Projects this year, almost double the projects from 2020.
- Gravel road stabilization and selective grading work was done on 14 road segments covering 25 kms of road.
- Drainage improvements were made with 60 roadside ditching projects and 132 culvert replacements.
- Pavement preservation work was completed in 19 areas totaling over 45 kms of roadway, including crack repairs, micro-surfacing and thin lift overlays.
- Collector road rehabilitation work and paving was done in Riviere Qui Barre, Terrault Estates, and along Range Road 254 and into Heritage Industrial Park. Phase 1 of Meadowview Drive received the first lift of pavement with final paving happening in 2022.
- A new waterline was constructed from the Hamlet of Villeneuve to the Villeneuve Airport, bringing reliable access to potable water, improving safety and firefighting capabilities.
Several improvements were made to community amenities:
- Pinewood Woodridge Trail was constructed with 1.55 kms of gravel path connecting the two subdivisions.
- Cardiff Park saw improvements with fire pits, year-round washroom access, fishing dock extension, picnic shelter upgrades, skating ribbon upgrades.
- Glory Hills had a new playground installed with improved safety and play features.
- Bellerose Park Trail had a new gravel parking lot constructed to accommodate 45 vehicles.
