Success is natural consequence of good habits
We all agree that good habits are important to success because they increase the odds that you will reach your objective and one way they do this is by minimizing the number of choices that you make. The psychologists have shown that the more options that we have, the more effort we have to make in deciding which to choose. This taxes our energy and leads to worse decisions down the road. Also by making our choices automatic without thinking, aka a habit, we are more likely to stick with it and carry it out.
Clearly this further goes along with motivation and we constantly are told that motivation will lead to success, but it drains us to consistently be upbeat and carry out the actions we need for success. By relying solely on habits we cut out the motivation part and focus only on the actions.
Also another reason habits are important for success is because they allow us to make tiny, incremental changes as we complete them. We aren’t working all day on a novel only to find out the plot is terrible—instead we are writing a little bit each day, giving us time to let it sink in and alter the course without making humungous changes.
Therefore, a final reason habits are important for success is that they are continuous also you don’t just fail or succeed at a habit like you would a goal. A habit is multiple implementations of the same action, over and over again, where the process itself is the reward. If it leads to success then it’s just icing on the cake, but until then habits allow us to live in the moment and slowly improve over time rather than forcing us to place all of our bets on a single point.
Those successful people always seek motivation as often as they need it, and they all have slightly different habits in how to achieve that motivation. Some Meditate for an hour every morning, others listen to their favorite Epic Music during their ride to work, others stand in front of the mirror yelling their affirmations, and others again watch motivational videos.
And motivation is a key emotion to reaching success at an accelerated rate, because it gets us to do more in less time. Successful people know this, but also know that Motivation is just an emotion that comes and goes. So they made it a habit to get motivated any way they know how. You will not find 1 way to get and stay motivated forever, but there are hundreds of small little ways to get motivated all the time.
