Couldn't have said it better myself. Succession planning alleviates the "what if" scenarios of employees eventually moving on from the company and the organization having to then scramble to figure out what to do. Training leaders early naturally fills those gaps in as they arise letting the panic resources to find/train other qualified candidates be put towards something to further profitability.
