A Sunday Rant

<!--Begin Rant-->

This country is being hijacked by partisan politics; to say one side or the other is to blame is to become party to their divisiveness. Politicians are not celebrities, they are public servants and work for all of the people they represent. We the people pay for their shenanigans, literally. The shit-show We just witnessed regarding the most recent SCOTUS appointment is the epitome of our current state of affairs. Either party would have you believe that compromise is a thing of the past and have thus adopted a "our way or no way" attitude. To be clear, this isn't what we pay them to do. We pay them to find the middle of every issue, in other words, to find what works best for the most people possible.

Nowhere in The Constitution of the United States does it talk about the importance of job security for public servants. It was intended as a form of service (to the country, not oneself); never is it mentioned what a great profession/career politics can or should be. When it morphed into a profession (a job), job-like metrics should have been created. There are very few other jobs on the planet that operate under such minimal performance standards - a yes or no, in or out vote every 2, 4 or six years and in the interim you are held accountable by your own colleagues. It's like the idiots are running the asylum, giving themselves pay raises and working less than part time. It's not too late. We the people have the power to change it. It won't happen overnight but We have to start somewhere; not with the next election or the one after that. It's what happens in between the elections that matter. Our public servants have operated without our managerial oversight for too long.

It's time to change that.

#termlimits will solve a majority of the issues out there. We should not have 80 year old men or women deciding what is best for our country. People at the end if their life span cant possibly or very rarely speak to what the youngest generation wants. Age limits should be put on these jobs also to help ensure that we continue to evolve.
