Hi, folks! This is Heather.

Dr. Isabel from doctorsonamission.com has asked me to come along today to give you guys an update. So just before I start, I just want to let you know I’m totally out of my comfort zone. I’m not a public speaker, so bare with me. 

So, not even 2 years ago, I went to the doctor for my son not for myself. I ended up having a self check and came back I had diabetes – high blood sugar, high blood pressure. The biggest I’ve ever been in my whole life, feeling totally blah, but just plugging along with life and once I got diagnosed with that, this is what I needed, I needed a big o’ slap in my face.

I was talking to Mike, Isabel’s husband, on a non-related matter and I explained to him what had happened at the doctor. So he passed it on to Isabel. Isabel called me, offered me her health services. When I went to the doctor, they told me that if I didn’t change something, I’ll be dead within 5 years. Okay? I’m now a grandma of 6 beautiful grandchildren. I want to see them grow up. I’m too young to die. I was 47 when I started this.

So, we’re not quite 2 years down the track yet and here we are today, and I’ve kicked the weight off. And if it wasn’t for Isabel’s 14-day Weight Loss Program, I’ll be bigger than I was back then. You’ve seen from the first fit video, not really nice. It wasn’t good at all.

So where was I? I had diabetes; I was a smoker, no longer smoker. July, it would be 2 years I’ve been smoke free. Fantastic. I can’t even think of that, what was like smoking in this mouth. Ulk.

How much did I weigh? I weighed a whole bunch... really, really thick. I was size 28 pants. That’s a lot. And I didn’t have any energy, no energy whatsoever.

I didn’t know that there was sugar in one-ingredient foods. I didn’t add sugar to anything but still I was getting sugar in my body, I was addicted to sugar. I didn’t know if you know, but sugar is 8x more addictive than it is for cocaine. So to kick that is huge.

Once you get the sugar out of your body, your energy just starts flowing up. Because sugar just brings you down. And what I learned, because I was giving low-fat for the children and for myself, I was thinking I was doing good but with the food keeping low-fat, it is lower in fat but it is higher in sugar. So I was actually feeding my kids and feeding myself sugar without even knowing it.

With Mike, what he told me was to prepare my food right. I’d sit there and blast the music up for like 2 hours and I’ll chop up a whole bunch of veggies and I’ll stick them in the fridge and that would be there for the whole week. I would poach some chicken or salmon and I’ll have that in the fridge, I would come home from work, I’ll pull this out and within 20 minutes I had a healthy meal for my children and we can still go for a walk so or whatever wanted to do before bed. And they had something healthy, which was really, really good.

So, 18 months down the track, here we are guys. No longer have diabetes. I don’t smoke anymore, and as of this morning I’ve lost 45 kilos, 99 lbs. That’s a whole person, gone.

No longer a size 28, I now have a size 12 pants. And my energy? Off the planet guys. I didn’t have energy before. But I can’t do it because if I eat yucky food, I go back to here and I feel blah, that’s how I felt over time. But now I’ve got so much energy, it’s crazy.

You guys don’t have to do this, but yesterday I actually completed a mad run, my fourth one. Like I said, you don’t have to do it but that’s something I’ve done and before I could even go for a walk without that puffing. think of participating in a mad run? But I did it.
