SuperMap’s Video Supervision Platform Protecting Green Wheat with AI GIS
In response to increasing damage caused to farmland during industrial activities, governments are strengthening supervision of land use. The emerging technical measures are greatly facilitating the supervision work.
Guotu Information (a subsidiary of SuperMap) implements an overall upgrading of the “Land-protecting Smart Eyes 2.0” Intelligent Supervision System. It has enhanced the integration of intelligent perception and application scenarios to solve business difficulties more accurately. The system is tailored according to various business scenarios such as destroying cultivated land, non-agriculturalization, and non-graining. Based on AI ground object recognition and high-precision spatial positioning, a spatiotemporal discrimination model is established: business layers are superimposed on space and a time window is set, and through multi-dimensional time and space discrimination, it can further improve the accuracy of early warning, reduce labor costs, and improve the intelligence level of supervision work.
“Land-protecting Smart Eyes 2.0” Intelligent Supervision System
Taking the green wheat protection business scenario as an example, we established a discriminant model for behaviors that affect grain harvesting, such as using immature wheat as “ensilage fodder” and destroying wheat to start construction: add a recognition sample library of different kinds of typical reap equipment and actions to increase AI recognition accuracy of such action; automatic calculation and acquisition of accurate spatial coordinates of harvesting behaviors by bidirectional calibration of video images and geospatial positions; overlaying of cultivated map layers to determine whether harvesting behaviors are within the scope of cultivated land; using time window to determine whether the harvesting behavior is in the off-harvest season. After the above process, the behavior of destroying wheat can be accurately judged, and then through the early warning and publish service, it can help the department to find the problem to the greatest extent and reduce the loss in time.

The full-process intelligent detection, distinguishment, and warning mechanism provided by “Land-protecting Smart Eyes 2.0” is also applicable to various hotspot scenarios including the illegal occupation of cultivated land for non-agricultural construction, black land protection, straw burning, etc. Thanks to the powerful scalability and adaptability of the system, the product team can quickly customize according to business needs and quickly meet various business needs.
