SuperPanther Partners with Steyr Automotive to launch Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks in Europe
As part of the global transition towards net-zero emissions in the transportation industry, SuperPanther announced its strategic partnership with Steyr Automotive, a renowned European automaker with over a century of experience. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in SuperPanther’s global “Enabler” strategy, which aims to lead the commercial vehicle industry into a new era of electrification through technological innovation and industrial cooperation.
As a pioneer in the field of new energy technology, SuperPanther is committed to advancing its “Enabler” strategy by working with global partners to drive the innovation and adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks. This partnership with Steyr Automotive represents SuperPanther’s first collaboration in vehicle manufacturing in Europe and is a key milestone in its global strategy.
The partnership between SuperPanther and Steyr Automotive is built on the companies’ shared expertise in electric heavy-duty trucks and their deep market insights. SuperPanther, with its breakthrough core technologies and systems capabilities, brings strong technical advantages to the partnership. Meanwhile, Steyr Automotive, will contribute its rich experiences of lean manufacturing and superior quality. Together, the two companies will leverage their complementary strengths in technology and manufacturing to jointly explore the European and global markets.
The first product of this collaboration, eTopas 600, is an electric tractor tailored specifically for the European market. It is equipped with high-efficiency LFP batteries with driving range of 500km, SuperPanther’s self-developed electric axle, an 876V high-voltage platform, integrated thermal management system with an intelligent energy management. These features ensure high performance, energy efficiency, long range, durability, and digital scalability. Additionally, the launch of eEmerald series was also announced. The rigid truck variant offers a variety of powertrain options, driving ranges, and cabin configurations to meet diverse market demands. Both truck variants are expected to go into series production into the European market at the end of 2025.
