Anthony Levy built his first PC when he was just 13. Home computers were becoming a thing but, like most families, his couldn’t afford to buy one. Resourceful by nature, Anthony discovered he could make good use of the parts other people were throwing away, and this formative experience planted a seed that would grow into his future vocation. 

Now a father to two tech-savvy, climate conscious kids of his own, Anthony leads Circularity First, a supergroup of sustainable IT companies. He’s on a mission to spread the word about IT’s role in the circular economy and why now is the time for businesses to get on board. 

WHY SHOULD BUSINESS LEADERS CARE? 

Only 43% of leaders know their organisation’s IT carbon footprint, yet IT contributes between 5-20% of an organisation’s Scope 3 emissions and is growing. Reducing this will be vital for net zero pathways but businesses are under pressure; budgets and resources are stretched, supply chains are unreliable, and meeting carbon reduction targets feels overwhelming.

This isn’t about asking businesses to make compromises. Anthony is passionate that society as a whole has to wean itself off the idea that new is best.
