Sweden with new REE supply
The best way to start producing Rare Earth elements is to start small - and with byproducts. That is the idea of Grängesberg Exploration. In this old iron mine, there are tailings dams with tons of valuable material. 5 million tons of valuable apatite flotation tailings, to be rather exact. It is above ground and pumpable. In the old days, when iron was the focus, everything else was flotated off and discarded. With tailings containing phosphate-rich apatite and rare earths, the new Grängesberg company has a very attractive and easy to get into production asset.
Grängesberg Exploration is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, it owns the tailings dams, the land and the equipment at Gränges, and is currently securing funds for working capital to start the apatite flotation.
I wish them best of luck and look forward to another non-Chinese source of Rare Earths to the European industry.
