T-47 days to the Most Critical Election in our 248-year history!

As we approach what may be the most significant election in the history of the United States, it is crucial to understand why many individuals continue to defend positions that seem indefensible.

Based on my analysis and years of study in history and political science, I have identified ten key reasons why 43% of the U.S. population, including voters, persist in this defense:

  • Fear and Anger: Many people harbor deep-seated fears and anger towards change, often rooted in historical and cultural opposition.
  • Influence of Special Interests: Certain groups prioritize their status and power, seeking to protect their unfettered access to decision-makers.
  • Greed and Self-Preservation: Money and self-interest often overshadow empathy, leading to a lack of concern for the broader community.
  • Social Media Proliferation: The rise of social media, coupled with a lack of regulatory controls, allows misinformation to spread unchecked.
  • Misinformation and Conspiracy Theories: The prevalence of unverifiable lies and conspiracy theories, along with inadequate fact-checking, contributes to a distorted understanding of reality.
  • Resistance to Societal Evolution: There is significant opposition to the evolutionary changes occurring within society.
  • Demographic Changes: Major demographic shifts are anticipated, particularly by 2032, which can provoke anxiety and resistance.
  • Racial Biases and Distrust: Anger and deep-rooted distrust of government institutions often stem from historical racial biases.
  • Religious Misconceptions: Misunderstandings regarding the separation of church and state can lead to misguided beliefs about governance.
  • Misinterpretation of the Constitution: A lack of understanding of the U.S. Constitution and the importance of the rule of law can skew public perception and support for certain policies.

This election is more significant than any that have come before it, and it may shape the future of our Democratic Republic for generations to come. As citizens and voters, we have a duty to thoroughly research our options at all levels—federal, state, and local.

Our choices should not merely reflect our personal interests but should consider the greater good of our nation and society. While I am just one individual, one citizen, and one voter, I am committed to prioritizing the collective well-being over personal gain when selecting our government and leadership.

My current distressed financial situation means I will not benefit personally from any political party or candidate. However, the knowledge that my vote can help elect a government that serves the greater good is a great reward.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. As Benjamin Franklin wisely said, “Be civil to all, sociable to many, familiar with few, friend to one, enemy to none.” Let us strive to embody this spirit as we approach this pivotal moment in our history.

In summary, please note:

  • Civic Responsibility: The importance of all citizens/voters to  research and analyze the voting options at all levels of government, prioritizing the collective good over personal interest.
  • Individual Perspective: Your commitment to focus on the greater good rather than individual gain by valuing the impact of your vote on society.
  • Call to Action: I encourage everyone to consider how their choices will affect the nation and society, promoting a more altruistic approach to voting.
  • Choice: I chose the  quote from Benjamin Franklin about civility and social relations, reinforcing the theme of community and collective responsibility.

Thank you. Francesco
