TAKE THE TEST

There is a simple test to see if you are of God and striving daily to walk in love.

1 John 3:10,11 says, “In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:

• Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God,

• Nor is he who does not love his brother.

• For this is the message that you heard from the beginning,

that we should love one another.”

The Message© Bible says, “Here’s how you tell the difference between God’s children and the Devil’s children:

• The one who won’t practice righteous ways isn’t from God,

• Nor is the one who won’t love brother or sister. A simple test.”

Are you striving daily to walk in love and do what’s right, or are you only concerned about how people treat you? Verse 14 states, “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.” The Message© Bible says, “Anyone who doesn’t love is as good as dead.” Death is when you say “What about me?” and refuse to obey God’s command to love others as He has loved you.

A command is an order, and you are ordered by God to walk in love. You experience God when you abide in His manifested love, and the only thing that can truly satisfy you on the inside and make you happy is when God uses you to be a blessing to somebody else. You can be a multi-billionaire and still be the most miserable person on the planet. It satisfies you deep inside when God uses you to help somebody get their needs met. This is the love of God being manifested through you and is the only thing that will give you fullness of joy.
