Taking A Pregnancy Test Doesn't Make You Pregnant, Mr. President

Today I heard President Trump say again on TV, (where you can see his mouth moving, hear the words distinctly, and see that it is him saying it rather than a reporter saying what he said) that "We're only having new cases of Covid-19 because we're testing. If we weren't testing for the virus, there would be no new cases."

Does that make sense to you? That's like saying you're not pregnant unless you take a pregnancy test and it comes out positive; so, if you wouldn't take that test, you wouldn't be pregnant. It's like saying, that all the people who have died of Covid-19, but were never tested, didn't have it. (Which is exactly what the government IS saying, by the way, because they're not counting those people in the Covid-19 numbers.)

Over eight million people worldwide have gotten Covid-19, resulting in over 436,000 deaths as of 6/15/20, and over 25% of those deaths are in America which has only 4% of the human beings in the world. In spite of all these facts, some people still believe President Trump when he says, "if we weren't testing, there would be no new cases."

People are dying every single day of Covid-19. South Carolinians are dying every single day of Covid-19. What does it take to pierce some human minds with that clear, concise information? How can President Trump's words be so compelling to some people when the data and the horrible tolls of human loss, are staring them in the face?

Vice-President Pence is insisting to all the governors of America that the reason we have more cases is because we're doing more testing. That's not as bad as President Trump's words, but still misleading and missing the major point that lots of people are getting sick and some are dying, with or without any testing at all.

How I know that some people are believing the Administration over absolute facts is that everyday somebody tells me either on FB, email, tweet, or phone call, that the only reason we have more cases now is because they're testing more people now. Again, doesn't that miss the point of the warnings about this crisis, when in fact, the deaths from Covid-19 are growing in number every day? The hospitalizations are growing in number every day. The people getting infected are growing in number every day.

We're not done with "the first wave" yet, and some people are saying things like "oh, I hope there's not going to be a second wave," after implying that the first wave is over. Breaking News . . . not only is the first wave not over yet, this virus will more than likely be coming back every year from now on. That's why we need a vaccine ASAP.

Propaganda is a powerful tool. If you hear a lie enough times, you're likely to believe if even when the truth is available to you. We're all going to pay an incredible price for this propaganda promoted by the President and his entire administration. More people will die who did not have to, more people will have permanent organ damage who did not have to, more people will get sick who did not have to, ALL at an incredible price.
