A tale that's often told

A tale that's often told

(Verse 1)

In the heart of every home, there's a tale that's often told,

Of the love we share with creatures, both the young and the old.

We call them our companions, our friends who never stray,

But the food we give, oh can we live, with the price they have to pay?

(Chorus)

How can we love, yet feed them pain?

From those whose lives were lost in vain.

Defined by us as merely food,

Oh, isn't it time we changed our mood?

(Verse 2)

In their eyes, there's a question, a plea that's left unheard,

Can we not love all creatures, every beast and every bird?

Why must some be sacrificed, their lives tragically unfurled,

Just to feed another's appetite in this vast and wondrous world?

(Chorus)

How can we love, yet feed them strife?

Isn't every creature's life,

Worth more than just a meal or snack?

Oh, isn't it time we gave something back?

(Bridge)

So here's to vegan dog food, a step towards the light,

Where every creature's valued, and no one has to fight.

For survival or for freedom, in a world that's fair and right,

Where love for all is truly love, both day and night.

(Chorus)

How can we love, yet cause such harm?

To those who never raised an alarm.

Defined by us as "food" or "pet",

Oh, isn't it time we paid our debt?

(Outro)

So let's ask ourselves this question, as we look up at the moon,

Can we truly love our pets, while humming this mournful tune?

The answer lies within our hearts, let's hope we find it soon,

For a world where all are free to live, oh wouldn't that be a boon?
