It was a roller coaster third quarter in staffing. Summer holidays, back-to-school routines, and cautious hiring plans made for three very quiet months. I am certainly happy to put the quarter in the rear view mirror. As we situate ourselves firmly in Q4, I am seeing several trends indicative of a real talent shortage, despite the current "employers' market". Tech unemployment fell to its lowest point in September at 2.5%. Companies have been interviewing more candidates but making fewer hires.  They aren’t finding exactly what they want for the price that they are willing to pay.  To address this issue, I am encouraging our clients to adopt a try-before-you-buy option through temp-to-perm hiring. As we speed through Q4, I look forward to offering new hiring solutions in 2025!

Until then… Let’s Go Yankees!
