Tang Weizhen also made a significant discovery
.On April 17, 2015, in prison
Tang Weizhen first entered the Https://bbs.wenxuecity.com/finance/ a Stock Market Forum on July 23, 2002. At that time, the financial market was in an extreme downturn, and I expressed my market views and opinions. Netizens were very surprised and thought that the "Stock God" had appeared. They discovered the "Stock God," some said I was the "Chinese Buffett," and others said I was the "Chinese Soros." They said that we needed our own "Buffett, Soros." Regardless of which deity, it was a good thing and a source of pride and wealth for the Chinese.
Later, someone made a "significant discovery" through careful observation and research. The Toronto Chinese online community recognized Tang Weizhen! From then on, for a long time, netizens debated fiercely, forming two factions: the "Support Toronto Chinese" and the "Oppose Toronto Chinese." Several years later, a legitimate "Chinese Buffett" appeared on the internet and television. Tang Weizhen authored the book "The Wealth Road of the Chinese Buffett," and a quick online search would reveal the global recognition of his name. By January 2009, the "Second North American Chinese Wealth Summit" was held at the Toronto City Council Center, and the "Canadian Chinese Spring Festival Gala" reached its peak, achieving unparalleled success.
However, just a few months later, the "Chinese Buffett" was investigated by the Ontario Securities Commission. The authorities made a breakthrough, and in March 2009, the former police officer of the Securities Commission made a significant discovery. He discovered the "Chinese Madoff" in Toronto. I didn't understand how the police knew about "Madoff." The police officer from the Securities Commission confidently declared in court that "Chinese Buffett is the Chinese Madoff, involved in a financial fraud case." They requested freezing Tang Weizhen's assets and suspending all transactions, including securities and foreign exchange. From then on, there was an uproar among investors, and the factions "Anti-Tang" and "Pro-Tang" emerged. This time, the commotion and debates were far more intense than those on the Https://bbs.wenxuecity.com/finance/ forum.
From Tang Weizhen's investors to the Chinese community, organizations, the entire North America, and even China, discussions continued endlessly. From the Securities Commission to the police, the monitoring officials, the court, and many courts in Toronto, even to the prison cells. The Securities Commission and the police conducted an unprecedented and extensive investigation of Tang Weizhen, with a magnitude and scope that were unprecedented and costly in Canadian history. The case of SINO- FOREST Inc. and Tang Weizhen caused significant damage to the Securities Commission, a severe test for them.
Generally, they just scare people a bit and then back off. They don't want to go to court. However, in this case, they needed experts and a large team of lawyers. The charges against Jiahan Forestry and Tang Weizhen were identical, investigating Chinese business. The defense costs for Jiahan Forestry alone amounted to hundreds of millions of Canadian dollars, and the Securities Commission's expenses were no less. The trial couldn't reach the court; it has been going on internally within the Securities Commission for over 200 days. Both sides suffered losses, and the case is set to conclude by the end of 2015.
Financial cases require a significant amount of manpower and resources. The Securities Commission and the court use taxpayers' money, and everyone wants fame; they must fight tooth and nail. Initially, the Securities Commission was pretending to scare Tang Weizhen and destroy my reputation and career, thinking that would be enough.
Could Tang Weizhen be scared away? Listening to what I had to say, they realized it wouldn't be easy to scare or deter me. So the Securities Commission was forced to continue the investigation, determined to bring me to justice. It took them several years because they lacked the ability and power themselves. Shouting through public opinion alone wouldn't work, so they involved the police. But these matters couldn't be resolved by involving the police alone; they required experts, resources, and capabilities. They were using a cannon to kill a mosquito.
It's unreasonable to use a large team of lawyers to deal with an ordinary citizen like Tang Weizhen, and the use of force is even more inappropriate. They used the court as a backing and threatened with imprisonment to force an innocent person to plead guilty. Is this the rule of law in Canada? Where is fairness and justice? Is this how the constitution stipulates it?
They used illegal means to eliminate a Chinese Buffett and turned him into a "Chinese Madoff."
Originally, when the "Chinese Buffett" was imprisoned, they could have calmed down and rested. But it wasn't that easy; the real drama was yet to come. Tang Weizhen re-emerged; Tang Weizhen fought his way back.
Since the Securities Commission fabricated the Tang Weizhen case, from March 2009 until the case concluded in 2013, Tang Weizhen, like everyone else, had no understanding of Canada's judiciary. I wandered through the courts for several years, never had a lawyer, didn't have money, and went along with them, feeling quite relaxed. Accompanying the Securities Commission, then the police, monitoring officials, legal aid, going back and forth in the court, it was like sightseeing, spending three to four years doing so.
For several years, Tang Weizhen never understood how he had committed a crime. I repeatedly studied, investigated, and observed but couldn't understand or figure it out. I embarked on a journey, moving toward success, becoming more and more successful. Whenever problems arose, I immediately solved them. Why did they have to target me? What should we do? How can we understand and defend ourselves? Whom should I find to defend me? How much money would it cost? These questions and perplexities followed one after another.
Generally, when the Securities Commission investigates a case, it concerns industry and professional issues, civil and economic disputes, not police matters. Once the government initiates an investigation, lawyers need to be hired. It involves additional departments and a group of lawyers. Both sides need lawyers to confront the system, similar to fighting a war. I didn't have the money to hire a lawyer, nor did I know how to hire one or who to hire and how much it would cost. In Canada, ordinary people generally don't have the money to hire lawyers, so the government should provide legal aid for the judicial process to proceed.
The capabilities and expenses of lawyers have always been a psychological barrier for Tang Weizhen and Tang Weizhen's investors because there were no figures or references. Was it tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions, tens of millions? What would be the effect, and to what extent? Would I be acquitted or convicted? Would it be a minor offense or a serious crime? Would it be a waste of money? Guilty or innocent? How would the charges be determined? Could Tang Weizhen continue his beloved and skilled career in the financial industry, the great enterprise? Do the investors have hope? Is there a chance?
Can Tang Weizhen make a comeback, create new brilliance, and achieve his goals, becoming one of the richest people in the world?
Going to court costs money, and going to court like Tang Weizhen costs even more money. Investors are unwilling to spend more money, and they don't dare to think about how much money it will cost or how to understand it. Many investors can only accept their bad luck and curse Tang Weizhen, let him go to prison and serve his sentence. After all, this is not the first time, nor the last. Whether Tang Weizhen is unlucky or goes to jail, everyone doesn't want to have hope and a future anymore.
People think that since Tang Weizhen has no money, no lawyer, and has been thrown into prison, there is no hope. No one believes that Tang Weizhen can turn the case around, rise again, and no one would think that the Tang Weizhen case has such a significant impact on Tang Weizhen, Taiwanese investors, Chinese communities, and Canadian society.

It is very strange that one can achieve great things without money, and this can only happen to Tang Weizhen. Several years have passed, and Tang Weizhen disappeared. There seemed to be no activity on the surface, but in fact, I have been working, thinking, and taking action every day. I now have a wealth of legal and court materials, information, and powerful evidence in my hands. Tang Weizhen has resources and capital again.
What's even more important is that Tang Weizhen has started studying law, using legal knowledge and language to think, reflect, and put into practice. Tang Weizhen now has more confidence and certainty in fighting back. To create a greater miracle. The reason is that Tang Weizhen has made significant discoveries.
Tang Weizhen has discovered:
First, the role, significance, and practice of the Canadian judicial system. Second, the position, role, and significance of the Tang Weizhen case in the Canadian judicial system. Third, the economic significance, value, and cost of the Tang Weizhen case, how much money is needed, what needs to be done, what results and effects can be achieved, and in what time frame. Fourth, the target direction, approach, and execution power. Fifth, further discovering the conditions, advantages, connections with the mainstream, and development space for Tang Weizhen to become the "Chinese Buffett." Sixth, realizing that all of Tang Weizhen's court materials are a huge wealth and resource, laying a foundation for reaching higher levels. Seventh, using government resources and leverage to serve investors and the Chinese community.
Tang Weizhen not only wants to become the "Chinese Buffett" through his own vision, wisdom, experience, theory, and practice, but also wants to become a leader in various aspects of the world's finance, economy, politics, and judiciary. Turning disadvantages into advantages. Transforming negative factors into positive energy and motivation. Creatively unleashing individual intelligence and collective strength.
In prison, Tang Weizhen learned a lot from the works of Deng Xiaoping, the experience of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and most importantly, from former South African President Nelson Mandela. Tang Weizhen also studied Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, and learned many things. I learn, use, think, and practice at the same time. I am active, busy, and have a sense of accomplishment in prison.
In prison, I also read about a dozen novels related to law. One author, John Grisham, gave me hope and enlightenment. He was originally a lawyer but became a novelist and politician, serving as a member of parliament. From his novels, I learned about the strategic tactics, values, and economic sources of justice and the art of reaping rewards.
I also found inspiration and encouragement from the case of Jesus, from a book called "More Than a Carpenter," which is about Jesus. My case is similar to that of Jesus. Jesus was also suppressed by the authorities, accused of misleading the people and deceiving them, and was sentenced to death and resurrection.
Only by understanding ourselves and our opponents can we achieve victory in every battle. I study hard, practice hard, and through countless courtroom practices, which most people don't have the opportunity to experience, I have built my own confidence. I want to communicate with people, convey information, mobilize, organize, unite everyone, and use collective strength and wisdom to fight back.
Lastly, let me tell you a story from an award-winning essay by a Chinese author called "The Death of Socrates," which tells the story of Socrates, an ancient Greek philosopher, educator, and thinker.
Because he was famous and had a great influence, someone (the prosecutor) wanted to use his fame to gain notoriety and persecute him to death. He was charged with baseless crimes, accused of not believing in the government-endorsed religion and attempting to establish a new deity, misleading and corrupting the youth. He was prosecuted and thrown into prison, and he couldn't understand why a court composed of 500 citizens would sentence him to death when he had committed no crime. He pondered over it repeatedly. But he simply did not consider that at certain moments, the public may harbor hostility towards elite figures. This is a hidden aspect of human nature. Genuine thinkers sometimes disrupt people's daily lives, and as a result, they may be viewed as threats by those in power and as troublemakers by timid masses who seek a peaceful life.
Based on historical records, after Socrates was sentenced to death, friends and students advised him to escape, and at that time, he had ample time and opportunity to do so. However, he firmly refused. He may have wanted to use his act of willingly facing death to inspire more people to abide by Athenian law. He never anticipated that his death would lead to his immortal fame. Despite leaving almost no written works, he achieved the most significant position in the history of Western philosophy. The reason behind this was the attention he received due to his calm acceptance of death.
Socrates is dead, and his death made us realize three things:
First, do not accuse others for personal interests or use social power to harm others. Even if your reasons seem noble and you have widespread support at the time, even if you achieve a complete victory, history may still hold you accountable and leave you with a clownish image.
Second, do not think that tragedies in the world have nothing to do with you just because you are a commoner. It is true that many tragedies are created by those in power, and there is no dispute about that. But we, ordinary people, also have the ability to create tragedies, just like the 500 citizens of Athens.
Third, do not believe that death is the end of life and career. On the contrary, deaths like Socrates' mark the beginning of another phase in the lives of philosophers. It is the start of their philosophical practices being substantiated instead of mere talk.
Tang Weizhen has made many discoveries, and the most important discovery is that his efforts have not changed, but your attitudes and ways of thinking have. You no longer listen to me. I have lost the ability to organize, mobilize, and influence.
