Taos, New Mexico: PhotowalksTV
Taos is a small small town in North New Mexico that happens to be one photogenic masterpiece! Just ask Ansel Adams and Georgia O’Keefe.
Taos is my favorite part of the state for photography, where I’ve consistently found those huge expansive skies that I love, a historic 1,000 year-old plus Pueblo, great art, more amazing food (“red or green chili?”) incredible old adobe buildings and just the best light.
I've been exploring New Mexico in a multi-part series on the #PhotowalksTV series. Last week we went to Pie Town, the week before we caught the bird migration in #BosqueDelApache and now it's all about Taos.
Taos is about 90 minutes up the way from Santa Fe, the state capitol (coming soon in part 4 of the series!) and cooler in the summer. It's also home to a popular ski resort. Local photographer Kevin Anderson joins me in Taos to show off some of his favorite off the beaten path Taos photo spots. Hint: they’re worth the drive!
Thanks to Paul Ellis, who provided the cool slide guitar on the soundtrack of this episode, which is presented by Flipboard. (Check out the Taos Storyboard on Flipboard, which shows you what to do, where to eat and photograph!)
I hope you'll tune in and let me know what you think of the episode!
One of your best Jefferson!
