TAQA Water Solutions Unveils AED 95 Million AI-Powered SCADA System to Advance Sustainability; DEWA’s Green Hydrogen Breakthrough and More...

TAQA Water Solutions has announced a landmark AED 95 million project to develop a cutting-edge Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system across its wastewater treatment infrastructure. The initiative, unveiled at the IDRA World Congress 2024, underscores the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and expanded treatment capacity.


Dubai Electricity & Water Authority - DEWA has announced a major milestone for its pioneering Green Hydrogen project, which has produced approximately 90 tonnes of green hydrogen since its inception in May 2021. This initiative, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to utilise solar energy for green hydrogen production, represents a significant step in advancing sustainable energy solutions.


VNT, a leading global provider of solar solutions, has reached a significant milestone by supporting over 55 GW of solar installations worldwide. This achievement solidifies VNT’s role as a key enabler in the solar energy sector, driving the adoption of renewable energy on a global scale.


In a significant move to enhance energy sustainability, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) have signed an agreement to advance the UAE’s nuclear energy capabilities and explore innovative applications for clean energy. The partnership will focus on conducting a comprehensive technical and economic assessment of nuclear reactor technologies and leveraging ENEC’s expertise in pilot project development and cutting-edge technologies.


TotalEnergies , in partnership with OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE), has signed major agreements to develop 300 MW of renewable energy projects in Oman. These projects align with TotalEnergies’ multi-energy strategy in the region. The electricity generated will be supplied to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), a key exploration and production company in the country, through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
