Conflict Resolution within Teams
As an international strategist and business owner, I feel conflict within a team is two-fold on one hand it can stimulate dialogue resulting in a more holistic vision not properly addressed it can also ion. However, if not properly addressed it can also be detrimental to productivity and morale.
To best prepare and address conflict within your team you may implement a few of these strategies:
Open communication – Establish and reassure your team that open, and respectful communication is welcomed and valued absent any repercussions.
Root Cause Analysis – Identify the root cause of the conflict and take immediate steps to address it especially when it negatively impacts team performance. However, maintain positivity and reward positive outcomes.
Remain Goal Focus – maintain diligence and focus on the goal. I often tell my team “Displaying emotion is welcome becoming emotional is not.”
Be the example – Be the example to and for your team. Show them the vision then each day live it – they will follow.
Augmentation – Do not be afraid to augment players within your team. Everyone can be great people; however, everyone may not be a great fit for your team and the mission.
Be Kind – being kind and considerate is a strategic asset that can yield significant rewards for your team, vision, business, and YOU.
