Team Jolos Shares 6 Tips For a Better Time Management

Restrictions are gone and the summer is just around the corner. And you know what that means for the event sector? It's going down. Summer is definitely a hectic time for us, it takes a real fighter to survive the summer heat in the live-communication agency. We gathered some tips around the office to get you prepared and ready to roll. Here are our 6 super-secret time management tips.

#1 Can't do it without a to-do

A day without a to-do list won't be a productive one. Besides, isn't it the best feeling ever to check a box? A to-do list is like a little bucket list for each day you have, where you set small yet significant goals towards your end goal. Take these 30 minutes to prioritize your tasks and to create a game plan - visualize, draw, imagine. A great tool for that can be monday.com, where you can create a personal to-do list and also one for the whole team. We also recommend creating a to-do list at the end of the workday as well, to be fresh and ready for the next day.

#2 Forget Tomorrow

We have a saying in Estonia: "Don't leave today's tasks for tomorrow." We have all been taught this since the first grade. It has taught us a sense of responsibility and also that we never know what the next day will bring or what will happen. Do as much as you can, but never just stop because “there is tomorrow". Just do it.

#3 The Holy Google Calendar

Using different tech tools is always a good way how to level up your time management game. For us, Google Calendar is a sacred place, without it, there would be slight chaos. It allows you to write up all the deadlines, projects, meetings, vacation days, and personal days. Also, everyone in your team sees when you are available when you are busy or at the dentist's. This automated solution can save a lot of time and unnecessary questions.

We have some further recommendations for real tech enthusiasts - software Jumpcut allows you to get access to all the text you have copied and shows your clipboards history. Spectacle is another one of our favorites, it helps to move and share your displays and windows very easily with shortcuts. A perfect helper when working with a desk computer.

#4 Make time for a walk

It's impossible to achieve something without focusing on yourself. To reach goals and stay on track, you also have to plan time for yourself. In Jolos, we have very active people who love to take walks, go for a run, visit a yoga class, and do other activities that make them feel good. Stanford researchers even found that walking for 20 minutes a day boosts creative inspiration and productivity.

 #5 Keep the mood up

When making plans and to-do lists, it's also a good idea to create a plan that fits you and is personal. For example, one of our teammates gave a good tip: "I always start my day with the most enjoyable activities that I am excited about. Some projects are more exciting and come more challenging." When starting your day with more enjoyable tasks you can create a good mood and motivation to get you through harder tasks.

Some even admit that planning their day minute by minute may not be the best solution. Instead, they do their tasks when they are in the right mood and mindset, rather than just having something done.

#6 Let's be real

Sure, installing the latest software and having a fancy to-do list can help you to manage your time and increase productivity. But at the end of the day, the work that you are doing and projects that are working with- you have to have some passion for it.

"Time planning is, of course, important but for time management to be successful there must be a desire, curiosity, and a rush of adrenaline towards the success of the project."

So our biggest hack? It might sound cheesy, but please do what you love - this is the ultimate hack towards productivity and time management.
