Teamwork and Legacy

Teamwork and Legacy

The goal of our business is to provide high-quality and innovative digital products and excellent service to customers. This goal can only be achieved with the cooperation and support of the entire workforce. Just as a football team which only succeeds when the players form a cohesive team.

Teams invariably outperform individuals if they are working effectively. When groups come together to solve a problem, they come up with more creative and flexible solutions than individuals. At Dell Technologies Qatar, this year’s results are undoubtedly a team effort. Every single members of the team have played a critical role in making the customers experience memorable.

Being part of a team means being respectful to all other members for their particular role and duties. When the entire group sees itself as having a common set of goals to achieve, and each member of the team understands his or her contribution to the overall team effort, the best results are achieved.

Michael Jordan said: Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.

A team that works well together guarantees a successful outcome. And this sums up very nicely the collaborative results of the Dell Qatar team to date!

Not only we have overachieved our yearly target, we have also exceeded what we initially presumed it was impossible and unrealistic target to reach. As a team, everything become possible.

To me, the team is more than a group of people working together to accomplish a common task. We have a shared vision and purpose that inspires our own individual performance and the overall company performance.

Every members are accountable for their work, they know how to solve problems, make decisions and fully invest themselves in the organization. This is what I call a High-Performance team.

Now, do you know the saying: “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link” ?

It proves the importance of teamwork chain and its internal interdependency. In business, team of people represents the chain, and the two powerful words to describe the expectations of this chain are integrity and trust.

The belief that you won’t be punished or critisize when you make a mistake is the psychological safety that any high-performing teams needs. Studies show that psychological safety leads to market breakthroughs, allows moderate risk-taking, speaking your mind and creativity. The key is to adopt a learning mindset by truly be curious to hear the other person’s point of view and ask for feedback to illuminate your own blind spots. If you create this sense of psychological safety on your own team starting now, you can expect to see higher levels of engagement, increased motivation to tackle difficult problems, more learning and development opportunities, and better performance.

Exactly like CHUCK PALAHNUIK, I believe the goal isn't to live forever, is to create something that will.

When I look forward I want to achieve success in organizational or performance terms. When I look backwards I hope I have created a positive impact directly or indirectly, to everyone individually and to Dell Qatar as a whole. My goal is to leave behind me a set of positive and empowering values embedded in the organization, a toolkit you can always use on demand.

A brilliant team, with strong values, solid mental and resilience, team synergy, an outstanding team culture and the momentum to maintain excellence. With the right planning, the right team spirit, the consistency, the perseverance, everything can be achieved. Success of such a team doesn't lie on one person, it lies on the team-chain. As long as you continue to lead the change and run the extra mile, you are ready to fly your own wings.

The lasting of a lasting respect and trust. The art of transferring a negative energy to positive results; can only be delivered by a great team and leaders with vision, intellectual and emotional intelligence. Leader humility lets your team feel equally important and valued. They tend to stick by you through high and low points. The art of managing human capital to perform without fear go to the market and win.

Teams are more important than indviduals and organizations need to give more focus and attention towards "Team Management"; into empowering teams to solve challenges and manage growth. Going through this direction should not make organization totally forget individual talent as you need such talented indviduals to be part of your teams. I think the guidance here can be 80% focus on teams and 20% focus on talent.
