Technology should serve people, not the other way around.

When I was a teenager, I worked at a beachside pizza shop where I quickly learned the importance of customer satisfaction and optimising user experience. These foundational skills have shaped my approach to developing AI solutions at Augmentium AI, where my primary focus is on delivering AI agents that seamlessly integrate into users' lives. In this article, I explore how the lessons learned from my time in the service industry have informed my strategies for creating AI agents that eliminate friction between humans and technology, emphasising the crucial role of human-centric design in the adoption of AI.

In summer I wokerd at a small beachside pizza shop, where I wasn’t just making pizzas. One memorable evening, a young family was debating whether to sit down or take their pizza to go, as the father didn’t want to miss the upcoming fireworks show on the beach and have all of them walking with pizza boxes in their hands. Seeing an opportunity, I made their pizzas slightly smaller, folded them, and wrapped the bottoms in aluminium foil to make them easier to eat on the go. The family was thrilled, gave me a generous tip, and soon other customers started requesting their pizzas the same way so they could enjoy them while walking along the beach.

This experience taught me that sometimes small, thoughtful changes to how a product is delivered can significantly increase its appeal and adaptability for users who might otherwise have walked away. This principle of user-centred design and adaptability has been foundational in my career, particularly now that I am developing and deploying AI agents.
