Tejasvini (Aramm)| Story Analysis | COVID-19 Second Wave In India | The Buck Stops Here
Two to three years back, when Aramm (a Tamil film) was released, nobody thought it would receive such massive media attention now. The gripping storyline and climax in the end made this film a must-watch movie.
But what makes this movie relevant in the current scenario is the lack of accountability and denial on the part of people who are holding responsible posts on top.
Aramm (Tamil film 2018) was later dubbed in several other languages, including Hindi. The film was dubbed in Hindi as Tejasvini and grabbed more than 1.5 million views on YouTube.
Aramm Plot The film starts with an accident when a little girl falls into a pothole. Though it is the responsibility of a real estate contractor and the authority to make sure that all potholes are adequately covered, unfortunately, hundreds of potholes remain uncovered across India.
It seems as if these potholes are waiting for accidents to happen.
Not just kids, many adult people also lose their lives because of these deadly potholes. During the monsoon and rainy season, these potholes remain the number one reason behind numerous road accidents. But nobody—be it municipalities, local MLAs, real estate developers, or even the NGOs—pays any attention to it.
Many kids who play outside often unknowingly fall into these deadly potholes, with several of them losing their lives. Though some kids survive, that’s rare.
Film Tejasvini (Aramm) is exactly all about the helplessness of poor parents who want to save their child under any circumstances.
Despite the best attempt by the Police and other disaster officials, they are unable to pull back the little girl out of the pothole.
Out of sheer helplessness, the poor parents decided to send their son into the same pothole to rescue their daughter. And they succeed.
A lady IAS officer was at the helm who supported the parents to take the extreme step.
A Thought-Provoking Film The film not only performed well at the Box Office but also raised a number of pertinent questions with no definite answers!
A country of 1.5 billion people that progressed a lot in the last few years, a country that sent rockets to outer space—but when it comes to saving the lives of the poor and downtrodden, why is the country so helpless?

Why do the authorities pay no attention to open potholes? Where does the buck stop?
The Unfinished Conclusion The film is still relevant today. Because what we are now seeing is not just the surge in COVID-19 cases but the sheer helplessness in the face of people who can’t even provide basic oxygen to their near and dear ones affected due to coronavirus.
And god knows what’s going on with the non-COVID patients! With almost all hospitals now flooded with COVID patients, the government and authorities also need to think about non-COVID patients and ensure their timely treatment.
THE BUCK STOPS HERE As COVID-19 Second Wave has ravaged the entire nation, where is the accountability? Who would you hold responsible for this fiasco?
It’s not the virus; our dilapidated health infrastructure is killing more and more people. Patients are suffering across the country. Why? They are not getting treatment on time. They are suffering to get even a single hospital bed. And now even big hospitals are turning them back.
What Have the Governments Been Doing For the Last 73 Years? The scene couldn’t have become so worse had the elected governments in India built more and more hospitals instead of statues and bungalows.
COVID-19 pandemic has also devastated a developed country like the US, but people there didn’t have to suffer for Oxygen. They didn’t have to die without getting treatment. They didn’t have to pay exorbitant ambulance fees!
The hospitals in America didn’t turn back helpless patients because of the Oxygen and medicine shortage.
Moreover, the people of the US didn’t have to suffer just to get vaccinated. You are lucky if you are able to get yourself vaccinated on time in India.
Thus, you can’t compare the COVID-19 crisis of the US and India.
The people of India are suffering like never before. COVID-19 may have ravaged the country, but it also exposed the loopholes in our system and healthcare infrastructure waiting for disasters to happen.
Even if we go to Mars and trace water there, everything else would remain irrelevant and worthless if the citizens of this country continue to suffer like this.
