"Tenax Glaxs: A Permanent Solution for Stone Repairs and Cladding"
During a recent visit to Ireland, Fabio from Tenax HQ in Italy joined us to explore solutions for some common challenges in the stone industry. One key opportunity we identified is the introduction of Tenax Glaxs, available in both tins and cartridges. This product addresses the need for a high-strength, UV-stable, non-yellowing, and most importantly, permanent adhesive.
The Challenge
Stone materials, whether used in interiors or for cladding large-scale exterior projects, often face issues like chips, cracks, or the need for secure installation. When natural stone is damaged, contractors often need a clear adhesive that can either be dyed or mixed with dust from the stone itself to create a nearly invisible repair. Additionally, large stone panels used for exterior cladding over 2.5m must be mechanically fixed with metal supports, according to regulations. These supports must be secured in a way that ensures both safety and durability.
The Current Approach
Polyester-based adhesives are commonly used in these scenarios. They work well for repairing cracks, chips, and reinforcing the areas around metal fixings, especially in internal applications. However, when it comes to external use, different demands are placed on adhesives. Outdoor repairs and installations require a special kind of hybrid technology.

The Solution: Tenax Glaxs
Tenax Glaxs stands out as a unique, high-performance adhesive. It’s non-yellowing, UV-stable, and designed for permanent exterior repairs and joints. Unlike polyester-based adhesives, Glaxs can withstand the challenges of outdoor exposure, making it an ideal choice for natural stone, quartz, and ceramic applications that need lasting strength and stability.
What’s Next for Tenax Glaxs?
Tenax will be unveiling new Glaxs-related products at Marmomac in Verona, focused on external building materials. Originally launched over six years ago, Glaxs has now been made available in Ireland through Stonetec Distribution Ltd. For contractors involved in cladding, restoration, or conservation, this represents an exciting new option.
We’re planning a demonstration day in Dublin in early 2025, where industry experts, including Tenax’s technical team, will showcase the potential of Glaxs in real-world applications. If you’re attending Marmomac, stop by the Tenax stand to learn more about this and other innovations in the stone industry.
