TESAB reliability shines in long-life crushers
Reliability is one of the most important factors when quarries invest in crushing equipment. EEA Group discusses how TESAB’s crushers are among the leading options in this space.
For more than 30 years, TESAB has engineered its mobile crushing and screening equipment for the aggregate, mining, recycling, construction and demolition industries worldwide.
In Australia, the brand has been represented locally and directly, effectively positioning machines around the country in varying ages and models.
EEA Group’s aftermarket sales manager, Anita Waihi, has tracked down and identified numerous operational TESAB equipment across Australia.
“What we’ve found is there are a surprising number of older models which have been imported into many different applications and sites,” Waihi said. “The older 10570 and 10580 Jaws are still operating and performing from their inception in the early days, comparing favourably with the new 700i and 800i models which have replaced them.”
As expected, there are benefits to owning the newer TESAB 700i Jaw Crushers. The 700i has become more compact with a slightly shorter length than the older 10570, and the side/scalps conveyor has been shortened to provide ease of set up. Another value add for this new version is the massive seven-tonne weight reduction, which means reduced transport costs. Production is still key, and the design has ensured that optimum tonnes are processed for the various feed materials introduced.
It is important to meet industry expectations. TESAB has manufactured two hybrid electric jaws, the 700ie and 800ie. Both jaws offer high production outputs and lower cost of operation through reduced diesel consumption. These diesel/electric machines have a removable diesel generator and the ability to accept two external power sources. With operating conditions in mind, the control panel is encased in a sealed, air-conditioned case, and can be operated with gloves on.

“I’ve spoken with a number of owners and operators of older TESAB models and discovered a high level of satisfaction with the performance of the TESAB equipment”, Waihi said. “There are over 100 operators who have all agreed the machines are reliable and can be depended on for high performance. Operating conditions in Australia can vary from sub-zero temperatures in winter to 50°C heat in the Pilbara. The equipment has been tested throughout these conditions and excelled each time.”
In response to industry demands, EEA Group is bolstering its spare parts network, providing swift and reliable service for TESAB equipment across Australia and McCloskey equipment. With over 40 satisfied TESAB customers benefiting from the EEA Group’s parts solutions, the company is setting a new standard for responsiveness and national unity in the spare parts sector.
“When considering aftermarket support, the owners I spoke with highlighted how parts are easily obtained as a lot of the machines run with a simple hydraulic and manual control system,” Waihi said. “The undercarriage and tracks are also easy to locate and source spare parts.”
One of the oldest models, the RK1012 Impactor, is still working hard through the industry, with the earliest one Waihi has found dating from 2000. Although the RK1012 has been superseded by the 1012TS, this impactor is still relied upon for its versatility in crushing both Primary and Secondary feed while offering excellent production, a compact footprint, and a superior-shaped product. All owners agreed that the TESAB equipment they own is easy to operate.
“They were impressed with how the machines just kept going,” Waihi said. “TESAB continues to work on improving performance and meeting industry demands. Now that EEA Group are the distributor for this product, full parts and service are available to support these older models, and new models are available when the time does eventually come to replace them.
“TESAB customers have peace of mind knowing that their equipment needs are met promptly and comprehensively.”
