Be Thankful

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Hard to believe that the holidays have started, and we are closing out the year. As we give thanks for what we have, today’s post is about Being Thankful.

Last week I toured the ruins of Herculaneum (City of Ercolano, Italy) and learned firsthand how the residents worked together to build a community in this ancient civilization before it was buried in the ash from the Vesuvius eruption of 79AD. Fortunately, this city has been preserved so wonderfully for our benefit.  I saw how they engineered their water supply so that they reduced the possibility of contamination and disease in their city which fed both humans and animals. I marveled at the roadway design, building construction, and materials that have held up for nearly 2000 years.

I mention this to remind us that nothing can be built without working together – that includes building your business. Never forget the importance of the interplay between you and your clients. That symbiotic relationship is so vital to the work that you do together. It can’t work without it. Be thankful for it. Celebrate it.

To everyone that I have worked with this past year as well as those who have helped me in my professional and personal life all these many years, I send you my thanks both for your confidence in my abilities as well as helping me to build my skills. I couldn’t have done it without you.

May you and yours have a safe, happy, and blessed Thanksgiving. And don’t forget to thank everyone that has helped make you a better person!
