A Thanks Note to the Team of Docuseries Allegory - A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels

Dear Honorable Team,

I am deeply honored to share this thank note letter to a great team that believed in the guiding force from the Heavens and embarked on one of the greatest spiritual journeys ever undertaken in recent times.

Bhai Amardeep Singhji, you will be remembered forever as the Man who retraced the footsteps of the Master. Mrs. Vininder Kaurji who stood by you, the great soulful musicians and singers Saleema Khawajaji and Satninder Singh Bodalji, and the entire Team for their dedication in bringing out this beautiful Text in the celluloid form. I am much indebted to you and your Team for instituting this Spiritual Quest. You have been ordained by God to undertake this, Journey. Only people who had unfinished tasks in their previous lives can do this. I admire your commitment. your passion to Walk the Path. This is the real Walking with Sri Guru Nanak Devji Maharaj.

When I watched the episodes of Allegory - A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels, I never imagined that it could change me forever. I believe that this has to be made a curriculum in schools and colleges to bring out the spirit of learning which is possible by traveling and walking in the footsteps of great people. I know with certitude that this is beyond the realm of ordinary people as it requires a different mindset and the ability to believe in the final goal we seek in this life.

In one of the episodes, the narrative takes us through the journey of Sri Guru Nanakji and Bhai Mardana travelling in Baluchistan, spreading the message of love and the scenery captured by the Team is amazing and full of grandeur. I felt my small insignificant life in a city in a flat before a laptop. The episode is a brilliant narrative and touches on the cohesiveness and respect for humanity that was prevalent during those times which is unfortunately not seen around us. It was a splendid and wondrous journey undertaken by the crew and to summarize in one word - it stands apart. I felt the vibrations in the air around me and could sense an unknown power guiding me over there in the mountains and in the hills. I was transported into a different world. I felt a heaviness in my heart and thought that my heart would burst into ecstasy.

Watching the Episodes - A Tapestry of Guru Nanak's Travels is akin to being in a Gurdwara. Listening to the Bani. Ragis rendering the Hymns in spiritual abandon.

What can I say of the brilliance of Saleema Khawaja? Your songs just start off with an ethereal tempo that reverberates in our souls. It is elegant, emotional, mellifluous, colorful, rhythmic, and spiritual. I have never come across in my lifetime, such a rich tone texture. I have listened to Sufi music and been to Gurudwaras, and one can walk happily into the world of spirituality with a smile on his face when you render the Hymns. I have experienced divinity in the midst of cacophony and worldly pressures. In a world that is highly fragile and built on loose emotional structures that can get destroyed, your songs can make us believe in humanity and doing good to others. I do not know whether I would be in a position to meet you all in my lifetime, but if Wahe Guru permits, surely, we would all. I should listen to your songs from this Series to feel the power of spirituality coursing through my veins. Maybe you can compile it in a single album. Rest in the Hands of God.

I have developed a deep sense of respect for Mrs. Vininder Kaur for all the great support she had extended, and for being there with Bhai Amardeep Singh through thick and thin. Requires a different level of courage. I never met you Mrs. Vininder Ji, but you became a part of this great Odyssey. Retracing the Gurus Walk is a blessing and your name is forever etched in the annals of Sikh History. I bow before you.

When the last episode was aired and after watching it, I felt as if a part of me shriveled and died. Bhai Amardeep Singh, you have carried out the Guru's Task of spreading the message of Love and Oneness. I do not have words to describe the feelings that I went through. How much I wish the Program would have continued forever. You are a great person and a great soul. As I had written earlier, I do not have even one percent of your guts, vision, and passion. You were ably supported by world-class people who were aligned with your passion and I express my sincere thanks to them.

My humble request to all of you is to come together to perform once again and educate everyone on Sikhism, Sikh Gurus, and Sikh Philosophy. Perchance Wahe Guru gives me the opportunity to be with you on another Journey, please do not forget me.

Post Script: I met Mr Amardeep Singh when he visited Hyderabad to screen the first episode of the Docuseries at Tivoli. He is down to earth person and a gentleman to the core, we keep chatting over WhatsApp and he is kind enough to share his experiences in Pakistan. I am sure our paths are going to cross again. I have requested him to write a travelogue on the Journey undertaken by him and Mrs. Vininder Kaur along with the Team for all posterity. It will be a textbook material for all those who are interested in understanding and knowing Siri Guru Nanak Devji Maharaj. I was also lucky enough to correspond with Saleema Khawajaji and will be connecting with Satninder Singh Bodalji very shortly. Amardeep Singhji is also working on other equally important projects which I am sure will be a path-breaking insight into the Sikh Religion. Thanks a lot.
