That’s it, folks. We just wrapped four weeks of high-energy, high-impact, high-value sessions focused on helping you drive growth, profitability and personal success – and wow, did I learn a ton!

Attracting talent is all about leadership. The number one reason advisors go to firms, and the number one reason they leave firms, is leadership. Talent retention used to be all about creating fear; now, it’s all about showing people how well you relate to them, building them up, being empathetic, and offering autonomy. 

People want to connect with people. Firms looking to hire top talent need to have a brand ambassador that’s present in the marketplace, at least on digital channels like social media. I’d go so far as to call this person a brand evangelist; someone with relentless passion for what your firm is building, who generates excitement and draws talented individuals to your practice’s mission.

Think beyond the job posting and compensation offer. Attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent requires a focus on three core tenets: culture, growth, and value. Especially in our remote environment, building your practice around core values and an authentic vision is critical for attracting like-minded candidates. But culture isn’t enough. Ambitious talent, the kind you probably want at your firm, wants to be able to visualize a clear growth trajectory, as well as understand the value of being part of your practice.
