The third opinion

A couple of years back, my mother had some sort of ear infection. One of the doctors she consulted asked her to get some sort of an invasive procedure. Not very comfortable with that suggestion, she asked another doctor who prescribed a simpler treatment. Much to her relief, it worked.

In medicine, getting a second opinion is accepted. It isn't about right or wrong. It's about finding an approach you're more comfortable with. But when it comes to your work, more opinions might not help your cause. Having an opinion is easy. But getting the right opinion that betters your work and moves you forward - that's not easy to get.

Going on a merry go round of opinion seeking is a good form of hiding.
