"Those who can teach, can teach."
“Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach.”
Possibly the worst and dumbest quote of all time.
I think we should rephrase it as: “Those who can teach, can teach.”
Because just because those who “can”, can “do”, doesn’t mean that those who “can” have the desire or capability to *teach* what they know.
And if someone is so busy “doing”, what’s the chance that they’ll help you?
What’s the chance that they’ll really put effort into sharing their knowledge?
They’re hardly motivated to help anyone if we’re honest.
And at worst, what we often find is that people who can "do" are so insecure about their position, that they’re afraid to really share anything of value.
They think that sharing their “secrets” will diminish their own advantage, and therefore many “masterclasses” are more of a PR move than a genuine desire to actually share any skills.
So they share light, fluffy, surface-level stuff that won’t really help anyone.
And…
AND!
Lest we forget…
TEACHING IS A SKILL.
Copywriting is a skill.
Understanding how people learn, understanding a logical progression to sift through information and only bring up what’s relevant at the right time is a skill.
And these are skills that frankly, a lot of “doers” don’t have.
What about “charisma”? Presentation skills? Humor?
Being the greatest Photoshop expert in the world suddenly makes you an effective communicator, too?
This giant gap means there’s a tremendous opportunity for YOU to improve the world.
Don’t worry about being the best or the smartest or the most talented in your field.
Instead, worry about actually teaching people something you care about.
Share it all.
Because those who are most confident in their abilities know that nothing was ever lost by sharing more.
If you enlist the help of someone who’s done it before, you can avoid years of learning and costly mistakes.
I've had over 15,000 online enrollments and counting. I can help you avoid all the mistakes I've made over the years.
Let’s level up the quality of online education together - we need it.
