Three Questions Your Coach Should Ask

Three Questions Your Coach Should Ask

Effective coaching is often a matter of challenging assumptions, and the biggest assumptions often reside in the mind of the person being coached. Here are three questions I like to ask senior leaders.

  1. What are you doing today that will bring about a better future? We live in transactional times that demand transformational thinking. In other words, we act day to day but we must be thinking long-term.
  2. What are you doing to develop your people? Senior leaders sit atop the organization. They have made it, yes, but now comes the hard part. What are they doing to bring out the best in their people? Are they coaching them?
  3. What gives you joy? Coaching does get personal. Being a senior leader is a 24/7 responsibility. It becomes a lifestyle where time is never your own. The pace can take a toll.

Coaches help individuals think and act for the long term.

If you are a senior leader considering an executive coach, I would welcome a conversation. Click here for a free consultation phone call. I would love to be of assistance.

Great points to look at what the overall purpose or goals are...can one get coaching to help and in the end will it be worth the efforts and be satisfying. We have seen many leave great positions and need to ask why...thank you John Baldoni
