Three Steps Formula to remain motivated
There is something common in all of us, whenever we start any project or any new piece of work, we are high on motivation level & commitment. We have all sort of energy. We commit to ourselves that we will completely do the work no matter what happens but as we move on, we feel like things become monotonous, we feel bored because we've got to do the same thing again and again & at times we feel why the hell did I start it in the first place.
It happens to most of us that we feel low on motivation a few times.
Question is, how can we come out of low motivation phase and keep ourselves motivated most of the times?
We need to accept with ourselves that we are humans, if we feel demotivated at times, Congratulations to yourself! You are a human not machine. We feel all sort of emotions when we are put into different kind of situations.
However, we can always learn to manage them. Feeling demotivated is very circumstantial. It is highly likely that you are feeling low today and be highly motivated tomorrow. I have personally tested these highs and lows. I have experienced that on some days I was feeling extremely demotivated ands next day, I was on cloud 9. So, if you are reading it and understanding what I am trying to convey, you are right to feel that way sometime.
I want you to stay away from someone who claims and gives you any pill to remain motivated 100% of the times.
Here is what you must do to remain motivated most of the times.
Have Goals & Purpose-
"You can’t hit the object you can’t see".
It is very significant to have goals in life. Life without purpose is worthless, therefore you need to break down your purpose into goals and smaller tasks which are actionable so that you don’t get overwhelmed if you can’t seem to achieve bigger goals.
Achieving your smaller goals that are aligned towards bigger goals gives you a satisfaction.
Don’t confuse the goals with purpose-
Grand Cardone says,” that your purpose is the reason of doing what you want to do whereas you goals are specific milestones you want to achieve within a specific time.
Having purpose is the reason why do you want to wake up every day and having goals means you have the task that you need to do every day to achieve them. Your purpose is predominantly one of the main motives of life that will keep you motivated in hard times and your goals will give you a sense of accomplishment when you achieve them therefore define them and take massive action.
Be with winners-
If you want to stay motivated, you have to be with the people who are self-motivated and successful. You have to look up to the people who have already achieved what you want to achieve in life.
This is one of a very driving factors of remaining motivated. You might have heard about the saying that your network is your net worth. I don't know if you have read about the study that says if you calculate the average income of the five people who are closest to you or who are associated with you, whatever their average income will be, it would be your income.
it is no science, if you surround yourself with winners, you will also start winning and if you surround yourself with losers you will find it extremely difficult to win.
Therefore, it is better to stay with the people who are like-minded and who have achieved what you want to achieve in life. They will challenge you and support you wherever required.
Always remember- “Winners focus on winning & losers focus on winners”. Choice is yours.
So, review your company and don’t hesitate to cut off from people who drain your energy and suck your positivity.
Reward yourself-
And final thing- You must have some reward or penalty system for your own self.
How many of you know that every organization has their own incentive system, there is a reward and penalty mechanism.
If you perform well, you will get extra amount of money but if you don't perform well you will only get the salary, but you will miss on extra amount of money. Sometimes, that extra amount of money motivates you to do more. that's an incentive system but how many of you know that you can chose and define an incentive system for yourself?
If you have watched my YouTube video where I have talked about the importance of journaling, when I start my day I do a little bit of journaling I decide what I need to do and at the end of the day I do self-reflection, I check how many tasks out of those activities that I've decided for myself for the day I have completed. If I have completed more than 80% of the tasks, I give a pat on my back, that's a reward for myself. This is my own way to keep myself motivated I feel proud about the fact that the tasks which have defined for myself in the morning I have completed them successfully, similarly if you are not able to complete those tasks, maybe not even 50% then you need to define a penalty system for yourself, the penalty can be anything – you remind yourself not to procrastinate, have an accountability partner. I personally feel as if I have missed on something, so I need to ensure I become more productive next day. I don’t feel good the day I have not done the work I was supposed to do. This is my honest confession.
We human seek novelty more often to break the monotony therefore we must set goals, cheers ourselves up and hold ourselves accountable for our results.
Remember what gets appreciated gets improved therefore don’t forget to reward yourself.
Bonus points- With reference to my previous article, PLEASE-
A) Stop comparing yourself with others, comparison breeds envy which a very low form of feeling. It is enough to destroy your self esteem.
B) Stop doubting yourself, doubt is mental terrorism that you need to fight back by taking more actions towards your goals.
C) Stop regretting over past, quickly plan and take actions to achieve your future identity.
D) And stop worrying about the things that are out of your control. don't worry about weather, pandemic, govt ,system & people. Start working on your controllable.
Finally, I want don't want you to get confused with motivation and inspiration. These are two different aspect of a same coin. Motivation is ephemeral and inspiration is long lasting that’s why it is important to keep above three points in mind along with bonus points :)

3yThis is an insightful article to read! It's okay for us to feel demotivated and burnt out every once in a while. We're humans after all! As Paulo Coelho had said, “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”We, ourselves have to learn from situations or people around us in order to grow.
