A Time Like No Other

We have entered a time like no other in our lives.  It will force us to connect with our better angels or expose our darkest demons.  The unconscious habit we have of giving away our energy and the subsequent need for us to steal the energy of others underlies all drama, chaos, and conflict.  But what if we could break this cycle?

The development of our emotional intelligence is the antidote to this dark side behavior.  We can learn to recognize and regulate our emotions before our fears take over our behavior.  We can recognize our triggers and choose how we will react to them.  We can connect with our better angels rather than our darkest demons.

Abraham Lincoln referred to some people as those with the courage to bring forth the better angels of their nature.  In contrast to these individuals, demons habitually hide their true intent to control and manipulate others.  Demons lack the emotional intelligence that is fundamental to inspirational leadership.  They create unsafe, toxic work environments where attempts to innovate and change go unrewarded.  They encourage drama, chaos and conflict. 

Angels have discovered that the key better results is learning to lower their walls of resistance, judgment and attachment to outcome.  An organization can have the best strategic plan in the world but without a culture rooted in emotional intelligence it will not succeed.  We have entered a time like no other in our lives.  It will force us to connect with our better angels or expose our darkest demons.
