Time to Think About Next Year

Annual Planning. Not everyone will get excited about the need to conduct annual planning, but it is a good time to start thinking about next year. A little focused time this time of year can go a long way to keeping your team aligned for next year.

Your annual plan is a great start point, as GEN Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” Your planning sessions help the team better understand where you want to go, and with collaboration develops buy-in on how to get there.  Additionally, reviewing your plan quarterly can help make it a living document – this is your chance to evaluate how it’s going and what you need to do to adjust throughout the year.

In the simplest terms – planning helps get you from where you are to where you want to be.  We can help you do that! We help companies through facilitated planning sessions to develop their annual plan. We find that when planning is done in a facilitated, collaborative environment there is a higher chance of sticking to the plan and creating results.

Planning thoughts to consider:

·      Where are we now? How did you do this year? Is there anything we need to move into next year? What did we learn this year?

·      Where do we want to go / grow? What improvements can we make to the team, or offering that will better serve the client? How do we continue to improve our culture? Where do we need to invest our time, talent, and resources?

·      How are we going to get there? What actions do we need to take daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly to get there? How do we hold ourselves accountable? What are the measures of success?
