1y4.5. Listening As well Listening vs. Hearing Listening involves hearing, and it also involves understanding. It is a participatory activity, which means you have to engage and participate in order for listening to occur. It requires concentration and awareness, so that you can take what you’re hearing and give meaning to it Giving meaning to and participating at some point creates the relationship which is so very valuable. In business and personal a first chance meeting is the story. The greatest and most valuable tool for engagement and buy in is telling someone else’s story the way it should be told. Everyone has one and each as important as the other. I also believe that listening is absorbing what is valuable to next steps. For introduction, for value in creative consultation and perhaps resolve. This book is classic and timeless and I’ve read this over and again which has allowed me to be grateful to others who value the participatory conversation. And realizing the depth of engaging and not choosing comfort in listening to the same voices. Invite variety without fear! Great share Rick Back to the classics and reintroducing content that has been a valued resource to much of our success is a gift to others.
