In Times of WAR
Nothing good came of war. But heroes were MADE. ⭐⭐⭐
Now is the time to shine. Now is the time to stand above others and show what you are made of.
Do your soul-searching! 🤔
Figure out exactly what you want.
Focus on sharing your skills with others in a position to hire you.
It seems so simple, and there’s a lot of anguish out there on LinkedIn about these layoffs, but it’s a solid plan and you just need to stick to it! 💔
Build your tech stack. Spend time researching people who are active on platforms where you can showcase your expertise. Connect with them on a personal level.
You CAN and SHOULD do this, in wartime and in peacetime.
Right now, it’s wartime out there and the casualties are overwhelming.
I can’t tell you the number of career coaches that are out there talking about your résumé or your LinkedIn profile or your network.😪
While the steps are critical, they are only the tip of the iceberg!
To get a job that’s suitable to you and not just a bridge until we get over this hump, you need to go a step beyond what other people are doing.

They are working on their résumé and cover letter and applying to the black hole. 💔💔💔
You need to find your career peer group, or make one, and start inviting those people to share their experiences in the workplace.
Write an article about your skills and your experience.
Share that with your peers. Ask for their feedback. Look for their manager. Get connected. Get exposure. Post every day!
If you’re not sure what to post about, consider the problems in your industry. How can you solve them? How can you get others to contribute in a symposium and work on a problem together?
This is how you start getting content out there and start getting noticed by your peers and people in a position to hire in your industry.
Commit to doing this, while researching your industry, and specific roles you’re interested in applying to, and skip the job board. Go directly to the website.🤔
Let everyone that you can find on LinkedIn working for that company know that you are interested in that role.
Keep picking away at it. Reach out every two days & be that squeaky wheel.
Now is not the time to worry that you’re being ‘annoying’. If they really want the position filled and they like your skills, then they will move on your application. Keep going.
If you need help, reach out!
