Tips to Transform your Diet without changing what you eat

Whenever I meet new people and my wife or family members introduce me as a Health Coach, I immediately get bombarded with a lot of questions. Questions such as:

  • Can you tell me some tips to lose weight fast so that I do not gain it back in future?
  • I am just starting out on my weight loss journey, what should I do?
  • I am very busy and cannot change what I eat, so can I ever lose weight again?
  • I feel motivated initially but due to my lack of discipline, I am not consistent.

So, in this article, I thought to answer some of the above questions head-on. There are a lot of ways to improve your nutrition, but....

...when you’re first starting out, it’s generally less about what you eat and more about how you eat. A few things that you could consider are:

  • Eat slowly (~20-30 min) until you are ~80% full
  • Consider how food preparation may affect nutrition 
  • Eat a wide variety of minimally processed whole foods
  • Think “a little bit better.” Small improvements do consistently add up (this was a big one for me personally)

Pick any one of these tips to experiment with for the next 2-3 weeks.

Pay attention to what foods make you feel good and what foods don't.

Build your personal menu based on the foods that work for you - not whatever is the superfood of the month.
