Today is the Day to Take Control of Your Life
Sometimes I don't feel in control of my life. I have always struggled with an eating disorder and it's been more of a struggle recently.
The problem for me is that when my eating disorder is out of control, so do I feel my life is. Nothing else feels quite right. As a matter of fact, sometimes everything else feels downright wrong.
It's interesting, though that most things in my life are going exceedingly well, it just doesn't feel as if that's the case. However, this cause (my disordered eating) and its effect (feeling out of control) are all WITHIN MY CONTROL! Today I take my control back.
I hesitated to share something so personal but I bet someone out there needs to hear this. It's difficult being so vulnerable.
How to recognize if you're feeling out of control and take your control back
Do you ever feel out of control at work or just in life? Uncertainty can cause stress, sleeplessness, a lack of motivation, low energy and fear. These can result in burn out and health problems. If you're experiencing these feelings, you may be feeling out of control.
Recognize what is in your circle of control and what isn't. We all have circles of influence in the various areas of our life - both work-life and family-life.

What's in Your Control
Relationships can be difficult, but ultimately you can set boundaries even within those difficult relationships. How you spend your time, what you eat, how you take care of yourself, your attitude and the decisions you make are all within your control.
What's Not in Your Control
What other people do and think, choices others make, the news, the economy, what's happened in the past and the weather are not in your control.
Reclaim Control of Your Life
Today I'm going to show myself grace. Today I'm taking back control of my life. What about you?

1yI think #9 - saying no to things that are urgent and work on stuff that's important is a big one. AND #11 give the things you cannot control to God (politics, disasters, other peoples actions and attitudes, etc) Thanks for sharing, you should write more :)
