Today we honour Dr. Peter Dirks and The Staff at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Today is a very special day that Adam and I will remember forever...
Today is the day we were supposed to get married at our Ski Club to celebrate our union with friends and family but instead, decided to cancel our wedding and donate the costs of the party to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. This decision transpired after our son spent 5 days in the hospital over Christmas Holidays. We knew that the cost of our one night of wedding fun would go a lot further helping other sick children.
So...Today we are celebrating our little boys recovery and the fact that he is a soldier but doesn't even know it yet. Today we are celebrating the fact that we are so lucky to have SickKids Hospital.
I'm sharing this story with you because I would love your help in honouring Dr. Peter Dirks and The Staff at Sick Kids. We have committed to buying an expensive new piece of equipment in the operating room. *Full disclosure - 65,000USD for headrest and our contribution is 30,000CAN (currently getting corporate matching so money goes further) so any amount you can contribute to reach our goal is appreciated and will benefit all who need. Hopefully you will never know a child that ends up in hospital but in case you do, you're making a different with your donation. This is a cause we can all connect to, since SickKids cares for more than 100,000 kids a year. @SickKids Foundation
