Today's Hot Trends and the Speaker Topic Conveyor Belt

Today's Hot Trends and the Speaker Topic Conveyor Belt

Speakers I talk with at every level - from emerging to legacy - have one thing in common:

They want the inside scoop.

They ask who's hot....who is getting booked...who is in-demand.

What speakers, topics, and categories speakers bureaus are booking.

Speakers are (quite rightly) eager to discover how their content can remedy what pain organizations aim to ease.

The current trends conveyor belt is set to warp speed, and this approach is now a bit 'late the the party'.

If it's a trend with bureaus TODAY, it was being asked for YESTERDAY.

But if it is in a news release TODAY, it was on organizational leaders minds TODAY, and will be a topic at the event they're planning NOW.

Consider today's release of the new Surgeon General details on how toxic workplaces can negatively affect health.

Recent surveys suggest:

  • 76% of U.S. workers reported at least one symptom of a mental health condition.
  • 84% of respondents said their workplace conditions had contributed to at least one mental health challenge.
  • 81% of workers reported that they will be looking for workplaces that support mental health in the future.*

"The COVID-19 pandemic brought the relationship between work and well-being into clearer focus." *

oooooh now we are getting somewhere....

Organizational pain du jour? The relationship between work and well-being.

The rest of the report sifts out the gold we are mining and suggests what organizations may be seeking for their events.

CATEGORY: Leadership

TOPICS: Worker well-being, committed leaders, collaboration with employees, increasing meaning and value in the workplace.

KEYWORDS: mental health, workplace conditions, workplaces that support mental health, safety, work-life 'harmony' (aka balance), DEIA, belonging (aka corporate culture), building teams, communication, collaboration, trust.

New concepts? No. Top of mind? Yes.

Speakers need to get ahead of the curve on the conveyor belt if they want their message to be relevant to today's buyer criteria.

Love keeping up with your hot takes and excited to see this list. It never goes out of style to care about people and it’s nice to see that this is where these leadership themes are pointing.
