Tomorrow’s People

There’s no doubting it, with apparently 5 million active podcasts across the globe and anything between 50 and 150 million episodes in the can, there’s more than enough to listen to!

Just to give this a comparison, there are apparently “only” about ½ million feature films in existence.

So podcasts are PROLIFIC. Why then, would someone else enter the fray?

Many podcasts have 1 or 2 seasons and some are longer running obviously. So it’s a (pun intended) episodic existence for many podcast hosts. Not all last, some are deliberately capturing a moment in time, while others just fizzle out. So if you’re a host with several seasons in the can, congratulations.

And yes, the point of this is that I am now entering the podcast arena.

Working in partnership with a soon-to-be-revealed venture in the HR Leadership space and perhaps more significantly, everyone’s favourite SME HR Software platform Personio. Without their help, studio time, editing, graphics and hosting wouldn’t have been possible.

So launching soon will be Tomorrow’s People

The main theme behind the podcast series is what are great people I know doing NOW that are helping us set up for tomorrow’s people?

We’ve got analysts, entrepreneurs, academics, a Lord, a lawyer and a range of practitioners and voices you’ll be happy to hear from.

Putting together the first wave of episodes was no easy feat. When you are blessed with knowing SO many amazing people, how do make the decision on whom to feature and share a studio with?

Well, for this series, I created a story arc and then found the people I knew and admired who could talk to this arc.

The story arc then (not necessarily in episode sequencing) journeys through:

  1. Talented People - how do we engage and enable people who can build better businesses in line with inclusive and equitable strategies?
  2. Economic, Educational and Environmental systems - sustainable, progressive, regenerative and fairer ways to build our future using intellectual, natural and financial assets more wisely and compassionately.
  3. Innovation, skills and motivations - how we do understand and leverage better the technologies of change - invention, application and desires to do better, shape better, feel better.
  4. Governance, professionalism and growth - how we do map out the control mechanisms, standards, research, capabilities and trajectories that matter.
  5. Leadership, learning and performance fit for a more compassionate era - we need to care more about the planet, each other, our differences, our societies and our businesses beyond economic viability.

Without giving away the line-up, they all delivered AND MORE SO.

I hope you’ll welcome a new addition to podcast platforms with me holding the space for some incredible people.

In the next couple of weeks, watch out for posts from me and the amazing team at Personio.

Until then, get your headphones, earbuds and Bluetooth connections ready. Coming soon: Tomorrow’s People.
