Tons of green Hydrogen from the North Sea
Dear readers,
Let me tell it to you straight: Our global climate needs Hydrogen, and lots of it!
Right now, everyone’s talking about different production sites, manufacturing methods and transport routes for Hydrogen. The “merit order” clearly specifies how the whole thing should look. But opinions vary widely when it comes to working out what should be the “golden pathway.” Is there even such a thing? As I see it, there will be a variety of pathways.
From a German perspective, the North Sea is “just around the corner” since the northwestern part of the country borders onto this large, windswept area of water. And one person who is particularly familiar with the North Sea is the former Mayor of Heligoland: jörg Singer. In 2020, he founded the AquaVentus Association with the aim of developing a green Hydrogen offshore power plant in the North Sea. Today he was a guest in our Hydrogen Moves GmbH webinar and showed us how large hydrogen projects can be scaled up. If you missed it, no problem: Register for free in our Hydrogen Universe and watch the recording of this interesting webinar.

Getting large-scale H2 projects off the ground takes Hydrogen knowledge. So it’s fantastic that the number of Hydrogen courses is increasing all the time! Learning, as Aristotle knew full well, is part of human nature. Curious thinkers will therefore be pleased to hear about this latest educational offering:
The Technical Academy of Esslingen (TAE – Technische Akademie Esslingen e.V.) is offering a new (German-language) study program: Master of Science in “Wasserstofftechnologie und -wirtschaft” (Hydrogen Technology and Hydrogen Economy) – designed for all those hungry for success in the Hydrogen sector. The Master’s degree will give Hydrogen Technicians as well as Hydrogen and Energy Business Managers the skills to become experts in this area, allowing them to develop and support the widespread use of Hydrogen as a cutting-edge technology. The great thing about this Master’s program is that it has been specially designed for working professionals. The exciting bit: The Paul Group is entering a strategic partnership with energy company HOYER. The move sees Hoyer acquiring a 25.1% stake in the special-purpose vehicle arm: Paul Nutzfahrzeuge. You’ll find the official German press release from September 25, 2023, here: CLICK
So my motto is pretty fitting today: Keep moving!
