BELASCO THEATRE
New York City
Dear Mr. Randall,
In September of this year I sent you a letter c/o PO Box 993 Times Square Station, New York 10018 0993 in hopes of receiving group rates to THE CRUCIBLE. You see, our theatre presented the same Arthur Miller play in November of 1990 and a group from the show want to come see the extraordinary professional company at the Belasco. It was great recalling your reply during M. Butterfly as I then noted INHERIT THE WIND (in which I played Cates in college), your serving as Bread Basket Drive chairman in 76/77 for the Actors Fund of America. “I have enjoyed the performances you gave on THE ODD COUPLE as ‘Felix Unger’ as well as the guests shots on game and talk shows.” In 1974 I began a collection: files on, correspondence with and replies from legitimate performers to boost my own endeavors. I now write, as a fan, to say congratulations! on the American National Actors Theatre. I appeared as “Giles Corey” last season (at our Theatre)! And I mentioned how I enjoyed the album “VO, VO, DE, OH, DO!” I enclosed an envelope for group rates to the show to be sent to me at home.”
As a theater major in college, now a recipient of a B.A. in Speech and Dramatic Arts, and a collector of professional careers it is only more rewarding to see live NY theatre and I will be seeing THE CRUCIBLE Friday evening, December 27th. Seven members of the NFCT company of THE CRUCIBLE are attending. Can we possibly meet with some or more after the show to share Arthur Miller’s piece? Could you forward a letter to Glen Gardelli to obtain autographs on a PLAYBILL for update in my collection which I can pick up after the evening performance on the 27th?
You see, Mr Randall, your reply during M. BUTTERFLY was so appreciated and it showed support of this fan’s mail that I hope it will continue with the Acting Company, of which you are a Founder.
I’m sorry I didn’t get a group rate card for the show, but am glad arrangements are made to see it before it closes.
Enclosed is a program from our NFCT show. The Board of Directors of which I am a member, the cast members seeing the show at the Belasco, wish you all well with the run and appreciate anything that can be arranged, either meeting actors afterwards for a short moment, seeing you, or the autographed playbill. Thank you once again for your time and interest. Friendly and sincerely, Danny McCarthy
