Top 10 Career Q&A - Must know fact for CareerGrowth

Hello LinkedIn Family, yesterday we did a Career Q&A session with our CareerTransformation members. Very important for IT professionals. Please think through each of the discussion, and plan your next actions. Wish you great career & life success team!

1] Having 12 years of experience am i recommended to start coding now? or go to management which i cannot fully cope up

  • =) Management role in your area of career should be your choice. Your tech skills + partial management both can compensate for each other, as you grow forward. However additionally focus on growing your management skills. So in 3 months you would be better than today.

2] "How to become a Software Development Manager from a Jr. Frontend Developer? In this journey, How to improve management skills and as per IT market how much time it will take to achieve it? Is this journey based on Experience or Managing Skills?"

  • =) You should learn every phase of experience. If you skip levels, it would cause problems in your career. You can speed up the learnings by working hard. What others did in 6 years, you can do in 4 years. Yes, the market would reward you based on your skill & ownership & maturity, and experience on paper will not matter much, if you are very skilled & matured. However good maturity comes with experience, not always with learning & reading (Be aware of this fact aswell).

3] I applied lots of job notifications but no response in that side sir.

  • =) Same thing which we discussed last week. Mass applying is very unpredictable. Check your Resume is having terms companies are looking in JobDescriptions. Apart from apply on job portal, reach via company websites/linkedin, and connect with IT professionals. Attend meetups. Apply all this modal. And be patient, things would start clicking.

4] How to improve coding standards

  • =) Know standards & apply it in your day-to-day coding. Read blogs & try to follow it. You can use Sonar in your IDE while working, it would suggest you standards while working

5] Sir, how I learn all technical and core item of java in one month...?

  • =) Come up with practical plan. Define the scope, how much concepts you have to learn. Then arrange them in priority. Then define how much time can you spend daily on it. Accordingly see whether in 1 month work would be done. If not reduce the scope, or give more time daily, or extend the plan to more than a month. Everything is variable.

6] preparation strategies on preparing multiple technologies/tools.

  • =) Define the scope of things to be learnt. List the technologies & tools down. Arrange them in priority. Define how much time can you spent daily on practicing. Decide what can be done in parallel or what can be sequential. And coming up with dead line for overall completion

7] How to transform from Junior developer to Senior developer?

  • =) Check what your seniors of your team does, and start doing the same. When you think bigger than your individual role in team, and think about project & thinking about other team members, then you are growing and becoming senior in the project.

8] I learned more things.. But I want to implement sir

  • =) Yes, actions & implementation is the game.

9]I have call from hcl hr and they want me to work for technical support but I don't know it is good for my frontend development career.

  • =) Depends on your financial need right now. If it's too much, then get a job, understand working process. And then within next 3-6 months you can switch job to a development role, within company or outside. If you are already getting many calls, and interviews lined up outside for dev roles, then in parallel take that and join there.

10] Thank you sir 🙏 Need to focus more on preparation part.. Will allocate 10 hrs daily.Session was as usual amazing. Thank you sir.

  • =) All the best keep applying

And a small 11th surprise for you :)

11] Technique for being Consistent & measuring your progress towards your goal!

  • Create a checklist for all the repetitive tasks you would do daily.
  • Track this checklist in excel sheet
  • On daily basis measure your progress on those tasks.
  • You have to make your action taking easy & predictable. Then you would continue in long run.

Please do apply! with the right strategy & actions, you can accomplish massive results in your life. Wish you great success.
