Top 10 Reasons Why You Haven't Made A Million Dollars In Network Marketing...YET

I recommend taking a self-assessment on each of these 10 reasons.

Give yourself a score of 1 to 10, with 1 being that you're not good at this at all, and 10 being that you're doing really well in this area. Find out where your weaknesses are so you know where to focus your energy.

10. The It’s OK Mindset/Living In The Comfort Zone

People who are stuck in the “it’s good enough” or “I’ll get by” mindset will never get rich. I love this Wealth Principle from T. Harv Eker’s book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.

“If your goal is to be comfortable, chances are you’ll never get rich. But if your goal is to be rich, chances are you’ll end up mighty comfortable.”

You need to have a written down, clear intention, to create abundance, not just mediocrity.

One of my mentors, Keith Cunningham used to always say, “Everything we want in life is on the other side of fear.” The majority of people are not willing to move out of their comfort zone to get what they say they want. Anyone who has been highly successful in Network Marketing, or any business, has been willing to feel fear. They acknowledge fear for what it is…an emotion, and they take action in spite of their fears.

9. Lack of Consistency

Any network marketer who has made a million dollars or more has taken consistent daily action. They have a daily action plan, or mode of operation that they stick with. What are three to five things that you need to do every day to move your business forward? Decide what these things are and DO THEM. Do them five to seven days a week. Period. Get consistent and quit making excuses. Successful people have done ordinary things consistently. People talk about taking massive action, but intermittent massive action won’t do the job either.

8. Unwilling to Use Other People’s Money

Wealthy people are willing to take financial risks. And they have debt. Personally, I have a lot of debt. I leverage debt to increase my income. If I can invest $1 in something and calculate that I’m going to get $2 in return, I will use debt to get a greater return. Debt is not necessarily “bad”. There’s difference between spending beyond your means and racking up a massive credit card debt, versus investing in yourself, your business and your future. Use debt to your advantage.

7. Looking For A Quick Fix

So many people, when they get into Network Marketing, are looking for the get rich quick plan. Successful people understand that it takes time to grow a business. It takes patience. And it takes sticking with it through the ups and downs. Are you willing to do what it takes?

I hear people talking about being able to work network marketing as a “side business”. They tell people it’s something you can do and just fit it in the “nooks and crannies” of your day.

The truth is, you can do that. But you will never be a top earner trying to build any business part time. You can certainly start off that way, but even to get to a six figure annual income, will take a full-time commitment.

6. Lack Of A Clear Target

Most people don’t have a really clear income target. If you ask the average network marketer, they’ll say they want to make $10,000 per month. But they really haven’t thought about it at all. They don’t know what they really want. They don’t know what that amount of income will do for them.

As T. Harv Eker says, “The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want.”

I talk to network marketers virtually every day. And it’s shocking to me how few of them have actually given and real thought to specifically what they want to create in their lives.

5. No Tracking Or Stats

When I do talk with a Network Marketer who says they want to make $10,000 per month, they have absolutely no idea how to get there. And they haven’t broken down any steps and targets to get them to their goal. One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they never track their stats. And they don’t do the math. If you make $10,000 a month you need to start understanding exactly what it’s going to take.

Could you make $10,000 per month by having 20 people in your downline each selling $2,500 worth of product? Or maybe you could make $10,000 a month by having 50 people in your downline sell $1,000 worth of product.

Every month I write out my goals for number of sales by product. Then I track my sales. And adjust my goals for the following month.

4. No Focus on Levers

Are you focused on the one thing that’s going to have the biggest impact on your business right now? Million-dollar earners know what the levers are in their business.

They understand what actions are going to give them the most growth. They know if it’s more effective for them to spend their time going to networking events to meet people, or if it’s more effective for them to spend those three hours or so working on getting leads online.

Top earners pay attention to the most effective and efficient use of their time, money and effort. And they focus on those things.

3. No Sales Skills

You probably didn’t come out of your mother’s womb as a natural born sales person. You have to learn sales skills. And like any skill set, you need to practice and hone your skills.

Most Network Marketers I talk to don’t ask for the sale. They’re scared to death to ask this simple question - “So, how would you like to get started?”

When you learn great sales skills there are virtually no objections you need to handle. Closing the sale becomes a matter of knowing that you’ve got something of incredible value to offer, and in the process of offering it you’ll be blessing and serving your prospect.

2. No Ability To Automate And Scale

If you’re serious about building your business and becoming a million dollar earner, the faster you learn how to automate your prospecting efforts and scale your marketing the better.

The ability to speak one-to-many in your prospecting, and create an automated sifting and sorting machine, so you’re not wasting your time talking to tire-kickers and time wasters, is critical.

People who are becoming top earners today have learned how leverage social media to build their prospect lists online, use auto-responders, and communicate with their prospects on a consistent basis.

1. Not Having Identified Your Soul Signature

How do you separate yourself from the sea of sameness?

Let’s face it, there’s tons of competition in the Network Marketing industry. Not only are the tens of thousands (or more) reps in your own company your competition, but the literally millions of other network marketers are also your competitors. So how do you stand out from the crowd?

What’s your unique mission, purpose and message? What is it that you, and only you, can share? Why should I join you versus anyone else in Network Marketing.

What’s your Soul Signature?

If you have a knowingness that you have a unique calling, but you haven’t been able to identify it fully yet, or you haven’t been able to figure out how to use it to grow your business, or turn it into a business…
