Top 10 Reasons You Start to Dread Monday Mornings on Sunday night…

As professional women, we often find ourselves caught in the cycle of dreading the start of a new work week. The Sunday night blues become all too familiar, and the thought of facing another week can feel daunting. But what if we could shift our perspective and reclaim our power? What if we could prioritize our own happiness and success, and experience more of what we truly desire? In this article, we'll explore the top 10 reasons why we dread Mondays and provide empowering strategies to overcome them, inviting you to make a shift towards a work week that aligns with your aspirations and deserves.

1. Anticipation of a hectic workweek ahead.

2. Unfinished tasks from the previous week lingering in your mind.

3. Transitioning from a relaxing weekend to a busy schedule.

4. Meetings or deadlines scheduled early in the week.

5. Feeling unprepared for challenges that may arise.

6. Long commute and early wake-up times.

7. Wishing for more weekend time before facing responsibilities.

8. Potential conflicts or difficult coworkers on the horizon.

9. Missing the freedom and leisure of the weekend.

10. General anxiety about the demands of the upcoming week.

BONUS… You’re starting realizing none of that is truly “Prioritizing You”

I invite you to make a shift… and that always begins with our thinking and soon our actions and expereinces will follow.

  • Fulfillment is the key but finding it can be hard. Look for ways to align your work with your passions and values. Take the time to reflect on what truly inspires you and seek opportunities that allow you to pursue meaningful work.
  • Incorporate mindfulness and relaxation techniques into your daily routine. Prioritize self-care practices such as meditation, exercise, and spending time outdoors to help alleviate stress.
  • If you find yourself surrounded by negativity, it may be time to reassess your situation. Consider setting boundaries, seeking support from colleagues or HR, or even exploring new career opportunities that promote a positive and supportive culture.
  • Strike a balance between work and personal life is essential for our overall well-being. Take proactive steps to set boundaries and establish a healthy work-life balance. Schedule time for activities that bring you joy and make self-care a priority.

Your success should be more of what you want and less of what you dread.

As professional women, we have the power to shift our mindset and overcome the dread of a new work week. By prioritizing our own happiness and success, aligning our work with our values, and embracing opportunities for growth, we can experience more of what we want and less of what we dread. Let's empower ourselves to create a work week that reflects our aspirations and deserves.

Only a few days left to say YES to the VIP Retreat!

Denise Taylor, Career Success Coach

I realize for most, attending will mean taking Thurs and Fri off. Many will see that as a reason to decline. We often talk ourselves out of opportunities to prioritize ourselves when doing so means taking a day or two off work and away from home.

I want to confirm taking both days off will be necessary - especially if you're traveling to the Charlotte, NC area. Instead of viewing it as a hardship, consider it an investment in yourself.

We will start with the Meet & Greet Kickofff on Thursday evening so we do recommend arriving mid-day so you can get settled in. I personally enjoy a few extra minutes to unwind when I travel. We'll wrap-up the retreat on Sunday at noon, so you'll be on your way home Sunday afternoon.

In the grand scheme of things, the amount of time away isn't as much as we sometimes convince ourselves. Nor is it the inconvenience we assume it will be on others in our life to step in while we are away. We are worth whatever it takes for them to cover what we normally take on.

It's a long weekend spent focusing on someone very important...YOU. Let's keep it real – you deserve a break, a breather, and a boost!

We've intentionally planned the weekend's schedule to include time for you to work, play, rest, and dream. It will be a safe space where we'll be pouring into you the entire time. This refreshing will shift the mundane, erase the blockers and set you free to soar.

This is about you learning to prioritize yourself. Listen, they will figure it out for those few days. Learn more at www.VIPRetreat.live
